    Cool Hamboards?!?!?

Hi, i am thinking about getting a hamboard for my birthday because i think the look very fun to use and are super carvy, but im worried what people will think of me because they are sooooooo big, well...im dont you think it will be a littlllllle bit weird to see some kid going through the city with a 2 metre skateboard with 95mm wheels.

But im still not sure weather i should get one or not, people will think im stupid but yet they look so fun to ride.

So can any one tell me if they are worth the $600 or if they are a wast of time. And also are they good for dancing?

    Thanks

unless you like to just cruise, get something else. you can get 3 other completes for 600 bucks.

hamboards are awesome, but they get old fairly fast

I've goat and LBL DaGlide and its too big. MMaybe the Hamboards are cooler but I'd bet they are lame. Dancers are way more fun.

    wait they'er $445, and $425...not 600.

i still dont think they are worth it. i would rather buy a paddle board and do that myself, than buy one of there's.

Get a Fat Daddy (Flexdex) and throw on some originals, may get that same carvy feeling on a large deck, but having more of a reasonable size.

they only reason hamboards have such a surfy carvy ride it because they ride on original trucks. other than that they're just surfboards on wheels. if you like the way hamboards ride, and want to ride them around the city or your neighborhood just get a regular longboard and slap on some original trucks on them.

imo its not worth the $600, in terms or practicality. i have a practically brand new original apex37 deck middleweight flex for sale for $170 if you're interested, you can get original s8 trucks from adrian at cre8ive sk8. put those 2 together and you'll have your carvy ride and still be able to ride in the city without running someone over

I agree with everyone else...I have ridden one...They weigh a ton...Fun...? Yes, but the fun wore off quickly for me...I think you'd get more out of a smaller, lighter board...I have a bunch of dancer decks (don't ask me why...ha ha...) The lightest one is the Roggs Dancer...I can do everything on this board...I suggest the Roggs Dancer to you, young sir...

not a chance man, don't even bother, i built a 57 inch board in wood tech, just carrying it home from school without trucks on it killed my arm. Getting it on a bus/train was a completely difference adventure of an enormous caliber. Walk in, put it down on the ground on the tail, turn it 90 degrees, lift up, walk, put tail on the ground, turn 90 degrees, lift up, walk into the 6 seater, then i sat there from Eltham ~ Montmorency with it sitting on my toe so it didn't run away from me. Get something else and throw originals on it, Ado at cre8ive sells them for 150$ (S6's S8's and S10's)

if you check the 313 site, they have a list of shops that stock their stuff, i suggest going to each of those sites and working out the shipping to your place and try and get the cheapest one, but, heads up, it's a foam core carbon fiber board, and you're going to be shipping it in from a different continent, be ready to spend at least $500

I can probably make one my self.
yeah... i know your thinking yeah RIGHT. But i can probably do it because my dad works with racing motorcycles and uses fiberglass, carbon and he know all about the structer of things.8) It will be super hard but i might as well give it a try. but then again it will probably cost just as much for the metireal.

    WHY IS EVERYTHING SO HARD!!!!!

nah man, go for it, it's worth a try, if he races, try siphoning off small amounts of carbon at a time, start out making a mini maybe? and then when you get that down go full size, keep at it until it works, who knows, i may buy one off you in a year or something if you dial it in =D...

Item 1: Don't worry what 'people think of you'.
Item 2: Haven't tried a Hamboard (way too expensive for my taste), but based on my own adventures with various lengths of boards, they're probably fun if you have stretches of long, wide, traffic-free roads or something like that and can just cruise & flow.
For the city or anything like that, I'm sure they suck - too big, too heavy.
