    Default New ldp question

So I just bought a roe mermaid and I decided to take it outside for a test ride. I have never used an ldp before but thought it would be fun. In a matter of seconds, I was looking straight up at the sky because my board his a VERY SMALL rock. I have lemon/lime bigzigs and I figured it was just an accident and it wouldn't happen again. 5 minutes later, the same thing happened. The roads around my house aren't very nice since the winter destroyed it.

So my question is: Are ldps bad for rought terrain or did I just have a small accident and it shouldn't happen again? Was it because my front foot was over the truck? What can I do to prevent myself from falling because of some small rock?

Are you positive you hit a rock?
Because you generally have your front truck really loose, LDP boards are often prone to wheelbite without enough riser.. so I would think that would be a more likely suspect.
I need a new idea for a sig.

I never thought of that... I figured I did, but that is probably it considering I came to a dead stop. I'll check it out. Thanks!

Sounds like wheel bite to me. The Mermaid does not have wheel wheels but do you see scuff marks on the deck?

Can you post a photo of the front trucks?

I found out why I get wheelbite. My bushings pop out of causing the whole truck to have a lot of slop. Is there any way I can fix this?

    tighten your trucks?

I mean, if your bushing is COMING OUT they might be a bit loose

    Too tight? Too loose?

Take the bushings and hangar off, re assemble, experiment with the tightness and you'll be golden.

Oh yeah, and check for wheel bite by standing on your board while staionary, chances are a turn will never be that extreme so use that as a guide.

Right now I have an Orange top and middle and on the bottom is a blue cone. They don't seem to slip out. Would a shim help at all in this situation? If it doesn't, then I don't want to shim my trucks for nothing. Thanks for the help guys!

i increased the angle on the front to 20 degrees and that increased the height a little. I also have a white cone and orange barrel boardside and a blue barrel (all Khiro) roadside and i don't get wheelbite anymore. I have the stiff flex and weigh 190lbs. for reference. When i first got the board i was also getting wheelbite straight out of the box.
