Default Do risers improve your carving ability in addition to preventing wheel bite?

This question might sound stupid, but will a riser in itself improve your turning ability? I removed my 1/2 inch risers from my Arbor Pocket Rocket because the lower height seems more stable.

But I don't think I can turn as well anymore. Wheel bite isn't an issue, but I guess there's a leverage thing going on, huh?

Getting a 1/2inch closer the ground feels good though. Do I have any other options for lowering ride height without compromising turning radius?

loosen trucks, softer bushings. Thats about it.
Theres nothing in the world like a hard heel side carve on smooth pavement.

angled risers are a good compromise.

edit: to the total OP: lifting the board increases the leverage you have over the trucks, increasing turning ability, lowering the board to the truck (culminating in drop-through boards like the dervish) has the least leverage, but most stability.

Yes, higher ride height means more leverage which means easier turning.

yea you could do a lot of cool stuff with angeled risers, plus that dont add as much height. You can angle them inwards or outwards for better turning or more stability, im sure theres thread on it here and diagrams if you google angled risers
