arbors are nice first boards, but we need more info, tell us your height, weight, what you want to do with the board, and anything else you can think of and we will be able to be more helpful

If you post this in the Q/A, you could probably get people to give you a giant list of boards that are all good for cruising. If you really just want a cruiser, I suggest looking around a large online shop and just finding a board that you like the looks of.

any board that's not a thick heavy board (like the evo) will be a good cruiser. A board with some good flex will be more comfortable and lively at lower speeds. Big budget gets you a dervish, low budget gets you a S9, like the cosmic weave or bintang, or one of their carbon boards.

    I'm sorry, you're 6 foot WHAT????

    McDonalds, git some.

what's your location? if you're close enough to a good shop you should be able to go stand on enough boards to know what you want, I'm a huge fan of flex in boards, which is why I have no love for arbors, and revenge trucks are......strange. Try out a range of Sector 9 boards, as someone who's 6'1 170, I'm a fan of (in order of appearance on the site) the carbon spoontail, sand wedge, and cosmic weave/bintang. but that's just for kicking around. If you want to do some more serious riding on hills, the 9star and sunset aren't bad, and for mild DH get a board with gullwing chargers instead of missions or sidewinders.

Dude I agree 100% with Bookworm.
Go and try out a Sector 9. I first started on a 38" G&S Fibreflex pintail, then bought a Sector nine Carvin' Niner It just couldn't compare. Sector 9 make the best value for money boards in my opinion. But like Tankshell said, go and have a look and finda a board you like. I did that afor ages before I found mine. hope this helps.

Wow...people recommending sector 9's. Nothing wrong with that but I don't see it a lot.

Anyhow, I describe sector 9's as the "gateway drug" kind of board. Their boards are not "top of the line" BUT they work just fine for mostly whatever you want to do on it. It's just that usually after a person's first board, they start to find out what they really want out of longboarding, such as a flexier ride, tricks, sliding, commuting, downhill, and then find a deck that suits their needs more specifically.

So more info would narrow your search, because like tankshell said, A LOT of boards are good for cruising, basically anything that's pretty light is cruisable. Knowing more about what you want out of longboarding will help you get a board that suits you more closely right off the bat, rather than using money to experiment with another board that may not suit you.

Do you like flex in your board? Not wanting much speed would mean no downhill so that would eliminate really heavy, stiff decks, or drop decks. Do you want to do any tricks on the board? Any commuting? What kind of budget do you have?

gravity has some nice boards. also a wide range of boards that aren't too long, which would be good (i think) if you live in a city and have to be able to take tight turns in streets full of cars and stuff. their boards don't have MUCH flex however

Many of these boards i have never ridden, but I picked them because I believe they might suit the riding style that you plan on using your longboard for. When it comes down to it though, there are a wide variety of boards manufactured by a lot of different companies and you should find one that you will be comfortable using.

Here are just a couple from a few different brands

Even though I'm not the OP, thanks for doing this. There's a nice variety of shapes and styles there, so it's a nice layout to see what he likes and doesn't like.
