I assume from what I've seen that I want to be up on the front of the deck, so a wide nose w/o cutouts and not much of a tail needed.
Anyway, educate me, I want to learn.
Theres a lot of different elements that go into a deck. You want a big foot platform for your front foot especially, a small stiff amount of flex, and camber and concave vary from rider to rider. I love having both on my pulse v2. Check out this site, it pretty much explains everything although it may be just a couple years behind: www.pavedwave.org
Also, you may wanna check out these other companies to see their LDP decks to get some ideas on shapes and specs.

GBomb is also a pretty much LDP specific company you might want to check out.

the 'gear' page doesn't show all these links (i've tried not to make it a marketing website), but go to the pavedwave forum, all this same stuff there.
actually, you're in seattle, the birthplace of LDP.... just come to greenlake and you'll learn more in 10 minutes than in 2-3 hours on some forum

Check out the Galac site. His was the first boards I've tried where they actually wanted to take off on their own with little effort from the rider.

Best way to get an answer is to post on the pavedwave longboarding Forum.
One of the major things(besides the obvious flex & length) I look for in an LDP specific deck are "wheelwells" to help prevent wheelbite on 75mm+ wheels.
We'll talk some more about it the next time we bomb the MLT garage .
