Did I Get The Right Board?!
hi, im a little new to this forum as well as longboarding itself. i have ridden a longboard 1 time in california (i live in ny) and ive ridden scateboards many times. i talked to a couple people, including 2 people that i called on longboard websites that have ridden and helped me. after a couple of days, i heard a lot about 'Sector 9' boards, so i looked them up, did a lot of research, talked to a woman who rides sector 9 boards and finally purchased a "Sector 9 Carbon Trylam Complete Longboard-Black" for 153.95, which had Paris 150mm trucks, Dano's 70mm 78a wheel style, and DBS ABEC 7 bearings (the lady i talked to helped me choose those). when i do get this board, i plan on riding on the boardwalk and on some hills and roads, but mainly the boardwalk so no major hills or major crusing. I am 5'6 about 120 pounds and im hoping i made the right choice!!!! plz dont say you should of bought this or this... cause i already bought the board so saying that will only make me sad : ( just suggestions or anything would be real helpful, thx a lot!!

Re: Did I Get The Right Board?!
sounds like a pretty decent setup if you're looking into a cruising board. paris are nice carvy trucks

Re: Did I Get The Right Board?!
Great board until it breaks. Mine was the blue one. It wont hold up to heavy use. I took good care of it too. The fiberglass coating with the carbon fiber strips (peel up a corner of grip tape to get a peak at what i'm talking about) gave out little by little. Once you hear that initial crack, you have about 20 rides left in her.
Sorry for the bad review. I only say this because I had that board.

Re: Did I Get The Right Board?!
Aside from the apparent longevity issue, I like the new carbon decks from S9. I like paris trucks. I like daddies board shop (The DBS in your bearings). While I know nothing about your wheels, I like the rest of your setup.
Mr. New Kid, I approve you!

Re: Did I Get The Right Board?!
For the purpose you are using it for, that setup should be perfectly fine. It will be a nice ride.

Re: Did I Get The Right Board?!
The wheels are the stock Daddie's wheels. never rid them but heard they were ok/decent-ish.
Other than that, sounds like a rad setup. I would've probably gone with paris or randal 180s...but other than that, sounds like fun. post pics?
Some other time you may want to look at other wheels though, but these seem more than fine for learning on/cruising/carving.

Re: Did I Get The Right Board?!
for your first board i dont think it really matters. my first one was a dogtown on skateboard trucks with bearings that hardly spin. i still had tons of fun on it because i didn't know of all the other possible setups that were much more efficient.

Re: Did I Get The Right Board?!
The stock daddies wheels are pretty decent actually, a little slow but really inexpensive and they actually have a really nice drift to them.

Re: Did I Get The Right Board?!
My S9 Trylam broke easily. It came delaminated and turned into heart break. I loved that board. I use it to shovel mud from out from under my car during the rainy season when I get stuck.
