    Question choosing the first board

    Hello,

My name is Jack, and I have been interested in buying a longboard since the start of the summer. I plan on using it for commuting, cruising and bombing the occasional hill. I have a price range of 250$ (Canadian).

So far, I have considered the S9 Pipeline, S9 Sections and the Sayshun Crisis.

I know many people say S9 boards are of low quality, but i am not looking for a board to reach 70mph with, i just want something with capability of going somewhat fast, stability and , although not totally nessecary, something pretty portable.

Any suggestions are welcome, thank you.

You should get Randall R-2 trucks, a Sector 9 cloud 9 deck, Powell Bombers, and Bones reds. Pretty much an all around setup. Shouldn't be too expensive.

Ordering online is gonna be a hassle for me, as i am currently encountering some identity problems with it. What is one i could find in a board shop (in calgary) ?

By the way, I am 5'10, 150 pounds, shoe size eleven . Just incase you need it as reference.

Kracked Skulls. You won't regret it. NOWHERE is there an easier deck to ride. Make sure you get 70mm wheels, and Randalls.

Calgary! Hello fellow Calgarian. Check out CalgarySkate. Its where all us Calgarian longboarders reside. PS, I can sell you an old and used S9 Deck for like $20. Though not sure how it can handle hills lol. PS, Sayshun is Calgary local, if that sways you some

The skate shops in Calgary are Royal Board Shop (great shop, supports our scene), Red Nik, The Source (yeah they started selling longboards apparently), and Mission (though I have no idea where that is). And please, do NOT walk into the West 49 at the mall and buy an S9 there for the prices they charge. Those are overpriced by 150$ easy! You can get a better quality board for cheaper.

I recently was informed about the Flexdex Classic 29 through a friend. He has told me the he likes it, but never got into detail. Does anyone have any bad/good experiences with this board they would be willing to share? Thanks.

Hey Jack welcome to longboarding! I've been riding Sector 9's since 94 nothin wrong with them. They provide a good board at a price most everyone can afford. What a pitch , sorry. Check out the Bustin Strike , I just got one and it's really fun. Fun to push ,carve, slide, and bomb.If you can try to ride some of your friends boards , so you can get a better idea of what you want.Good luck in your quest

Mission is on 17th ave, in the community of cliff bungalow. And i never knew that sayshun was calgary local thanks. I have checked out a landyachtz boards and i have to say i do like the drop hammer, pocket knife and totem. i think those three and the sayshun crisis are what it has come down to.
