    Default carving trucks for pintail

Hey, I'm thinking about getting a flex 3 loaded pintail. Im about 6'1" and 155 pounds, is the flex 3 about right for that? i want a really turny board so i was thinking about getting the tracker 139's rtx/s, anyone have any experience with these trucks? will you get wheelbite with 70mm wheels?

    thanks-

Paris and Randall trucks can both be very carvy, especially when you mess around with bushings. You could get some Venom Super Carves 90a or even lower duro if you want it to be really carvy. Thats just my opinion though.
    Hope it helped.

Agreed. Also get 150mm trucks because thats what is recommended by many top retailers. and with 70's you wont get bite.

thanks for the opinions guys. thinking about going with the 150 paris trucks. ill look into those venom bushings. just put some orange and blue khiros in my 180 randal II's for my KS M1 and cant stop cruising with em haha. does anyone have any experience with the flex on the pintail? i want a pretty flexy board to play around with but dont know if a flex 4 would be overkill or not.

Does the pintail come in three flexes? I weigh about what you weigh, and I've been on a flex three pintail and I like it. The flex feels a little firmer and snappier than the flex on my dervish. This could be because of the shape... It could also be because I've ridden the crap out of that dervish ( :

Flex 2, if you use trackers especially. I ride flex 2, 150-160 lbs depending on how much I drank, 150 paris, soft 78a venoms front, 93a venoms back, orange big zigs. Crazy pump, awesome carving, good slashy slides.

    Do it big.

i would recommend the randal 150s instead of the paris. randals are extremely customizable. more so than paris i believe.

I have randal 180s.. they ride nice on my board... but u might want a shorter hanger width since the loaded pintail has cutouts. you can angle the trucks a bit to make them carve better. I have and angled riser on the front truck and a regular one on the back, it has a nice snap and carves nicely. Im ordering some venom standards soon

I can't say from first hand experience, but gullwing sidewinders, holeys, and original trucks should also give you a carvey ride.
The sidewinders and holeys have a more surf-like carve and the originals have a more snappy carve. Guys correct me if I'm wrong here.

I say get some Paris Trucks. You really can't go wrong with those. I have them on my Dervish and they work beautifully.

My vote is for Paris 150mm, or Indy, MHS Hybrids maybe as much as 161mm depending on the bearing seat of wheels chosen.

I don't have an opinion on the flex as I have little experience on different Loaded decks.

I wouldn't get Indy's unless you want an extremely slashy ride. I can slide out the back wheels on a hard carve less than 10km/h on that pintail. go for 150 paris or randals, and get really soft bushings, friend has 78a reflexes, loves it to death. Bushings around there would be great. he's 150 by the by.

anybody run bennets? i just ordered some for my pintail thats in the mail.

also kinda iffy on the flex...i go between 175-185 and i ordered a flex 3 because people recommended to go with the flex that has your weight at the top...

Flex 4 would probably be overkill. There is tons of flex in those Loaded boards...

I'm 155-odd pounds and have a flex 3 pintail. It is pretty darn flexy although I am yet to bottom the board out on flat ground. I prefer a little less flex and should probably have gone for the flex 2, but it's all good. I love the carvy, surfy, cruisy feel of it all. Oh btw I have Paris 150's. Either way the pintail would be a kick ass addition to your quiver!
