Cool Decision on my first longboard?

I'm pretty new to longboarding and I want to get into it, for cruising around Santa Barbara and just having fun. I already know I want a board that can cruise, pump and well; I plan on practicing and working hard to make pumping my main thing when i get my board cuz I think its much cooler than speed or sliding and it'd help a lot with getting around the college campus and boardwalks.

I'm not sure what board to get, thinkin about a 44'' Kracked Skulls scimitar with pink bigzigs and randall r2 trucks. Would this work for pumping?

I'm 6'1 and 160 lbs, only have a few hours of boarding experience with my friend's board, and I already can pump a little. I'm on a budget of around 150$ cuz I'm gonna be a poor college student in about a week.

What are your suggestions for my first board ever?

A great knowledge base for pumping is here.

I'd go for something a bit shorter for pumping. I'm not saying that its not possible to pump a longer board, it just feels a little sluggish in my opinion.

i would really look at getting something inexpenseive, reliable, and something that is readily available. sector 9 is good for that. you can discover your style without throwing down too much money, just in case you arent feeling the board.

    BUT

if you are SET on getting a board for pumping(esp long distance, hence the name of the baord) , i would recommend LBL's pumper.

I wouldn't go with the KS for pumping. It's drop through, it's better to have a top-mount imo, I have the 46" version and it's fairly hard esp with stock bushings, and I've even played around with it.
