Default 62mm wheels on an LDP set-up

Anyone using 62 or 63mm wheels, like Tunnel rocks, on an LDP set-up? Pavedwave recommends 66-70mm for shorter distance but is smaller OK, they must work but are they any good?

    cheers

62mm wheels will not hold their speed too well. For a Long Distance Pumping board, you really want some big wheels. On wheels that small, you will slow down quickly, which sucks energy from your pumping.

It will work fine, but you won't be nearly as efficient as you could be.

Bigzigs are highly recommended, because of their size, grippiness, and speed.
    Boards breh:
Comet Voodoo XL (OG shape) - 50* Calibers
Carbon Surf Finish Clutch Jailbait - Crails or Paris
Incline Fro Pick - Ace 66
    Comet Shred 35 - Indy 169s

    Not set up:
    Galac GTCPLDP
    Loaded Dervish

$70 + shipping for each?? PM me!

For me they're way too small and slow for LDP. I had 70mm on one LDP setup and changed to 76mm and the difference was very noticable. My Mini-pumper has 66mm on it and I use my 62 gators on my old school cruiser.

my cambrias are fast for their size, but my much softer in-heats hold roll a lot longer. the larger, the more plush, & the lower RPM to higher MPH ratio makes larger wheels a good thing. what you really want the largest wheel possible within reason, and that is useably around a 75mm wheel. you want to run as close to wheelbite as possible, and you will be one happy camper with maximum efficiency.

the general wheel choice for LDP especially for the starter is lime Bigzigs in the back, with lemon bigzigs front. you can also use a bigzig in back/zig in front if you are getting wheelbite. the smaller the wheel the less urethane between the road and the core. so smaller is also harsher.

They will also not roll over debris as well as a larger wheel.. Not a good trait on an LDP
