    Default Pumpin the Evo

So I bought an evo well traded it actually, and bought some used smokies
I don't downhill much yet as I have no helmet but I would like to get into it so no worries.

So I was thinking, and I says to myself I says, "hey! I like pumping, I think I will buy the usual pumping setup Bennett and Tracker"

As I'm sitting in my garage I thought of loosening a randal (to the point of the kingpin almost falling out) in the front. Then tightening my Smokie (to the point of almost causing my eliminators to explode) in the back.

Holy EFF! its like GOD walking you uphills as you pump. The most amazing (maybe not) thing in my entire life...

Anyone anything to say? Advice for pumping? stories? its all good

you loosened up the front, tightened up the rear. what wheels? what you got should be good for a start. get out and ride dude! don't be like me, sitting here thinking should i buy a board for long distance pumping or buy some avilas, ceramic bearings and spacers for my scimitar. i hate when this happens. like you, i should just grab a board and get the he&^ out of the house. but coming back to earth, i can't. the knee is still aching from last week. but YOU!! you should be out skating till the cows come home.

There is about 40 degrees of wedge difference from front to back on the evo. I would imagine it pumps like a slalom board if if you ran the trucks really loose. Cool use of an evo.

Yeah dude I have/had a scimitar. One of my favorite boards for tricks and slides but my friend borrowed it and it got hit by a car as you can see below

So for the wheels and bearings, I dunno it doesn't seem like it would affect me that much. But I have 10mm bearings in back with some weird gravity wheel that I didn't feel like switching out, and Bones Reds with lemon zigs in the front

And yeah I would definatly ride right now but up here in Seattle we do things a little different. See we get this little pest called rain... it wrecks longboards (supposively) and another thing call darkness.. Neither of which are fun at all :/

But dude pumping up the hill you just bombed... pretty sick hahah

    imo evo=overlylong ldp board...

i have mine set up with just run o the mill 180 randals and karot jimz bushings...(sometimes kihros) and the damn thing pumps like a beast...the wedging is perfect for pumping and with the perfect setup and a slightly shorter platform...it would be the ultimate ldp board... id love to try out the randal smokey combo...cause from what ive heard and seen with smokies...they dont turn much...AT ALL ...which is perfect for a rear truck

anyways.. have fun and keep pumping

you should bring your setup to the ultraskate October 30th -- it will go all day Friday and all night until saturday morning - RAIN or shine. I've got a couple carbon boards, you're welcome to try one out, takes on zero damage in this crap. and yeah, it does wreck wood boards over time!!

nice job on the Evo. can't tell you how many years I've explained this wedging thing to people, the shape of the Evo does all the explaining in the design, no wedges needed...

if you met a kid named Andrew? - he rode our last Ultraskate over 100 miles pumpin his Evo setup and I think he might make this next one.

i here ya.the evo is the ultimate board in my opinion.its reputation in downhill speaks for itself but people who dont own one dont understand how versatile this board is.i use it for ldp as well as push racing.i used it to win the first annual madness in the mitten distance race this year,(check out the video on the tube,im the guy in front on the EVO!!)and as far as high speed pumping this board has no contender.if you dont have one yet put it on the top of the list.

I love pumping down a garage, blowing by people in their tucks.
