Default Sliding out while carving hard?

So I have 83a Lemon Zig Zags, and for the past couple days when I was carving in the streets and parking lots, i ended up accidentally sliding out. Which was not what I wanted to do. Does it have anything to do with the Popsicle that I mounted my Randal 150's on while waiting for my new mini? I was just carving and lost the grip. Thanks

Yeah. It happens. It's called learning the limits of your setup.

you will soon learn that sliding out is the greatest feeling ever. just sayin...
but anyway yes, it does have to do with your board set up as well as how hard you were carving. the shlong is essentially a dropped platform = easy to slide, your wheels are naturally super drifty, and the harder you carve/lean/turn the more likely youll drift out. throw on some gloves and have at it man

just get used to it . maybe you just have to learn how to control your board better.

It's called a stand-up slide, learn to control it.

This is because silverfish causes the illusion that your gear matters way more than it actually does. you can do pretty much anything on pretty much any setup.

They do slide well once they break free, but they tend to hold grip.

Cool I was hoping I did a stand up instead of something that is not anything at all. I did it today a few times without falling, so I'm just going to keep at it and hopefully get it down

This step is what I call the puberty phase. You learn a lot more things and you start gettin' the ladies.
In other words, it's like hitting the puberty stage of longboarding. You carve out so hard that you slide out, meaning you're growing, learning more things, and will soon get all dem ladies. This means you're soooooo ready for speed check and stand up 180s!!!!!!!!

If you really don't like it, you can always get softer wheels. Softer wheels are grippier.

I have Durians which are just 75mm Stimulus, they slide like a dream. Are you going fast enough to slide?

i had this happen to me on Sunday. was riding my new gravity drop carve with new 80a high grades for the first time down a 6 mile downhill. its an old mountain road so the asphalt is rough and the road is more narrow than i am used to.

doubt i was going any faster than 12mph but she was drifting on every carve. so rad! all of the sudden my heal side check slides just came into play (have issues with these on my hypercarve) and i pulled about 15 of em in a row.

let er rip a little bit at the bottom and threw my first ever healside power slide. wooot!

While I agree with this statement, I also think that you can use a hammer to install a screw, but a screw driver works much better. Or, in simple terms, there are tools that work better for specific jobs.

In this case, if you already know how to slide well, a more slide oriented wheel such as an O-tang Stimulus will indeed slide easier for you. But, the wheel will not make some one who can't slide just magically bust some Colemans if they couldn't already.

Yea yesterday it was raining so the roads were all wet and after about an hour and a half i could do a 90 degree stand up pretty easily. But I have another question? What is a speed check? Yes, I searched both the forum and actually youtube, but i still don't get exactly how to pull it off.

A speed check is just a toeside/heelside standy, used to control speed.
