need help! what kind of dh boards + setups are also good for dancing?

Hi, im going to buy a new board soon, and i want to get a setup thats good for downhill, and i can change the setup for dancing.

any ideas? thanks for the help

No DH board is going to be great for dancing, but I imagine a topmount with a longer standing platform and maybe wheelbase as well, if you're willing to sacrifice mobility on the hill.

IMO, easiest route is to just get a f*ckin' Sector 9 bombhills. I got one from a friend recently, and it performs great. Stable enough on hills (35-40), and big enough to do some boardwalking.

I'm sure people will bash the idea of buying a S9, but who cares. $160 for a complete, and you could prolly pick one up locally as opposed to oredering online.

I would say a Demonseed with Randal 180's and Otang InHeats. Before you crucify me, hear me out...

The demonseed has a huge standing platforn, is really long, and incredibly versatile in this respect. Swap between JimZ bushings and Venom bushings. Maybe change it to topmount for fun. It has a nose that "can" be manual'd.

Idk, just trying to take a stab at it for fun...

This. You can never dance like you would on a dancer, on a DH board. You can never DH like you would on a DH board, on a Dancer. And sadly, there is no in-between.

What kind of downhill are you talking about? speed, technical etc?

My general opinion id that you should look at dancers, not DH decks.

For a DH board I like something with a nice aggressive concave that is going to lock me in so I don't fall off at 50MPH and skin myself. I like something sturdy and stiff.

For dancing, although I don't own a dancer, I like flatter boards with a little bit of give, and a much longer platform than I'd ever think of using for DH.

It's possible to get a board that's good for both, but one that's okay at two isn't great at either.

your best bet is to find a small builder and have them make you a symetrical topmount with a some extra long nose and tail extending past the the truck mounting holes

stock one you could try an fsm topmounted cus they have a bit of that goin on
