Indys are as good as Randals for carving, IMO. In fact I prefer them. It's a matter of opinion for sure, as the trucks turn differently.
Indys/Aces/Trackers/etc. are nice because they help keep it low. However, if you're going with Randals, I'd recommend 180s and some sort of a narrow centreset wheel. If you go all the way down to 150s, you might wanna go with a side or offset wheel. I ran Randal 42s/150s on my old narrowglider, and it was fine. The New ones are wider though, and 150s may feel tippy. It's a lot of personal preference, and you'll hear a lot of different answers to your question(s). Most people run conventional trucks with this board though.
I run my new widerglider with Ace 66s and 66mm EW superballs. It's sick.

I have a glider, I switch between Indy 169's and Randal 180's... Both work just fine.
I have a bunch of skateboards

Isn't this what you're supposed to put in a signature?

I remember setting up a wider with 196's and 72mm wheels, mad riser had to be used. With randals I think you could get away with 70mm without riser, but that really depends on how loose you want to run your trucks.

I ran it for awhile. It's really comfortable. Ran it with Tunnel Tarantulas and enjoyed it.

180 or 150 randals fit better with 70mm zig zags?

    just get indys dude
169s are sex for this board

and get smaller wheels, its a topmount
go for the 66mm zags they'll feel better and you won't fall off your board from wheelbite every other turn

Skate shops are often noobs when it comes to longboards.

You asked a question, people who own the board have given you answers based on experience. The answers you are getting run contrary to what the shop geek told you.

Now you have to decide who to believe. The thousands of people who comprise the Glider army and ride one every day, or the dork in the Neff hat and girl jeans at the shop.

spoke with brian personally about how he designs his boards. the 'glider is designed around 169s. follow stringtheorys' suggestion. you'll have a hell of a ride. you'll get props from old school and new school riders alike

Get mhs hybrid 169 with the 66mm road rages. I promise you won't be disappointed. People kept telling me this over and over again and I didn't think much of it. Now that I have it I can't believe I waited so long to discover this awesomeness. lol Definitely the go to board.

Indys or Aces or that type of truck for sure. Randals will carve yeah but I dont think you get the same pump out of them. I've got 72mm Freerides on mine at the moment but looking to downsize, possibly some 62mm Bennetts.
