Re: Need a good dancing setup
As far as I have experienced, dance setups are very diverse adjusted to own taste, so there is not really 1 good setup. For trucks I would recommend 180 trucks, wheels somewhere around 70mm and just take a board which looks attractive to you.

Re: Need a good dancing setup
i like randall 180 and 70mm zigzags alot on my dancer, slideable but also nice and grippy. maybe you wanna start with a bigger board like a lbl dancer so you have alot of space to walk on.
Most fishes swim in schools, but mine swims in pools.

Re: Need a good dancing setup
I've used a plank of cedar, sand and clear coat to make a dancer. It came out alright until I decided I didnt care much for "dancing."
Paris trucks are pretty good.

Re: Need a good dancing setup
I use Paris 180's, 66mm 78a ZigZags, and an old Envy 57" plank. It's not flexy at all and can carve like a beast if I want it to. And it can ride on anything and sound like I'm riding on fresh concrete.
I would recommend Paris or Randalls and definitely would recommend a very long board to learn on. I recently tried out a Vanguard and a Dervish and felt extremely constricted, but that's just me. Tom_puk put it best in that you should try out a bunch of different boards to see which you like best because I am different than my friend and you and everyone else.
Finders keepers, brah.

Re: Need a good dancing setup
If you wanna throw down the big dollars, the Loaded Dancer is amazing for what you're looking for.
If you don't, the LBL Dancer, LBL Komodo, and the Roggs Dancer are all really cool.
Good luck !

If you REALLY don't wanna throw down the big bucks, my friend just cut a rectangle out of some baltic birch and drilled holes for the trucks and was done. Cost him almost nothing because he had the wood sitting around as scrap but it's super flexy and about 5 feet long.
Finders keepers, brah.

Re: Need a good dancing setup
I am also looking for a dancer becaue my dervish feels to short to dance and I barly have enough room to dance. I like the look of a few dancers. I am looking at the LBL OSK or Komodo or the legendary dancer. The loaded looks nice but I have heard bad things about the flex.

I've heard nothing but good things about any Loaded boards. I rode one and didn't get into it much because of the price:features ratio, but they're great boards.

Re: Need a good dancing setup
Pick any moderately sized wheels, some 180mm trucks, and choose a board that's more than 42 inches. Most boards can be danced on. Pick one that looks cool.
Throw down the cash, buy it, ride it, love it.
If you don't love it, post it up here on the 'Fish for sale or trade.
Simple as that =)
Good luck !

hey bro for your first board, don't go for a dancing specific board. who knows what you'll get into after skating for a month or two.
let me reccomend something like a demonseed, i dont dance but i'd assume it would be big enough to learn to dance on. it is a double drop so it will be low to learn how to footbreak, it will drift to learn how to control a drift, and it will break traction pretty easily to learn to slide, and it should be plenty stable for any speed you'd be attaining.
maybe with a set of paris trucks and a set of 82a 74mm sector9 raceforms.

Re: Need a good dancing setup
a light flex and thinner platform is good for a dancer, as it helps reduce the leverage you have over your trucks, which helps you avoid a sharp "dive" when you step near the edge
