Re: Lbl Dancer
Why not, doesn't weaken the deck and gives you the option to run looser trucks with larger wheels. Haven't seen one with wheel wells though but sounds cool.
LBL for life.

Re: Lbl Dancer
If you like floppy loose trucks, or plan on getting wheels bigger than 70mm, then yes get wheel wells. You don't want to be running more than a 1/8" riser, because why would you want your board to be higher than it has to be?
I'm 175, use the RII 180's and grippins (70mm), and don't get wheel bite. However when I was setting the board up at first I got wheel bite a few times, so it definitely is possible if you like your trucks loose.
If it's even a minor concern for you, then why not? It's only another $10 on a board like this.

Re: Lbl Dancer
I will definitely be getting wheel wells when I order mine, as I want to run Gumballs without risers, and like my trucks fairly loose

Re: Lbl Dancer
gumballs? yikes!
it does all come down to personal preference, but having ridden dance boards with 76mm gummies and 70mm grippins, i'll tell you straight up the grippins are a better ride. the gumballs just feel too.....big i guess, even though they don't look much bigger side by side. of course i'd definately say try 'em both and decide for yourself, but i've done that and when my grippins get here, i know where they're going!

Re: Lbl Dancer
get wheel wells if you ride loose trucks, the newer randals have softer bushing I believe, and when I set mine up it got bite a bunch of times with the grippins, I even added another 1/4 riser and I got bite a couple more times. Maybe I just ride the randals super loose, who knows... I would get wells though.

Re: Lbl Dancer
Yeah the gummie thing is kind of confusing to me. The Adams both ride gummies I think, and I haven't tried them on my LBL but I tried them on big_loaf's similarly shaped (*cough* clone) board, and they definitely aren't as responsive. He is using Seismics instead of the RII's, which could also be part of the problem. Either way, I definitely love my Randal/Grippins combo, very turny.

Re: Lbl Dancer
Yeah it is interesting, because you'll get two very trustworthy reviews that are opposite each other when it comes to wheels. I have 75A Gumballs on my Fleetwood and like them, I can see whatcha mean by them being big, heavy, slow, etc... I want a set of Grippins as well (probably for my Loaded pin but could go to another board), so I'll get to test both, and do certainly take your insight into consideration big_loaf.. but it is interesting how the Adams swear by the Gumballs.
What I like about the Gumballs is they really roll over stuff well, so I feel like they might be more stable doing moves while going over imperfect roads, and good for just laid back cruising (which will be the dancer's other purpose). I also have Flashbacks which I like, I'm not a very good critic though as my longboarding experience isn't much.

Re: Lbl Dancer
i'm not saying that the gumballs are a bad wheel by any means, i love them for pretty much everything else. but it's just my personal preference on the flashback/grippins thing. damn, i really need to get those seismics off of that board

Why the hell the deck discussions in the tricks and tips forum?
You want to learn board walking? Take a skateboard and practice. if you have questions about form or technique, post 'em up here.
You just need an excuse to buy another completely unnecessary board? STAY OUT OF THIS FORUM and post in General or Q&A.
thank you.

i agree, it's not a question for this forum, but i was willing to cut some slack because it sparked some discussion in here.

Re: Lbl Dancer
ya.. dude.. this even though this is the tricks forum, and we're supposed to discuss tricks.. it's been dead, and it started some talking, so it just fine, who cares.. besides... Adam's Modding this forum, and i dont think he'd care one bit about it, so lets all chill out and get back to what we do best..

You don't have an excuse anymore, I just dragged your lazy butt out towards my house to a semi-dry almost iceless around the freezing-point parking lot. This is the recipe for danger...
