Re: The Loaded Challenge Thread
For a trick like this I don't care about who is first with their video evidence; I'd rather wait until I'm comfy with the trick so that it doesn't look like crap. If any of my tricks start getting to within a week or two of the deadline...that's when any "make" of the trick will be posted haha
Besides, I think we should all try to make our clips a bit interesting rather than a 10 second clip of each challenge trick, let's make this a fun contest!

Re: The Loaded Challenge Thread
Any suggestions as to whether a longer board is easier for nosies? Cause I've been practicing with my mini and haven't made too much improvement yet.

Re: The Loaded Challenge Thread
went to a parking lot w. a few guys today to work on the challenge. i found myself working more on regular manuals, i'd like to get them down before nose ones. i was riding my buddies Cold War Oppenheimer deck, it felt a lot better to me than my popsicle- some ppl. think shorter is easier, some think longer is... i dunno. after a couple hours i was getting almost one space, but it was sketch all the way... funny i jumped on my slalom rig for a break and was pumping better than i ever have... good luck everyone!

this challenge is motivating me to learn nose mannys and old school kick flips (im assuming thats what next weeks challenge is)

Re: The Loaded Challenge Thread
I'm really glad the adams & loaded put this challenge out... I was out working on the nose manuals today like many others. I've tried nose manuals before but never really set my mind to it... so basically I couldn't do it, I could get the back end up but could only hold it for a fraction of a second. So I started today being able to manual maybe 3 feet on a regular basis, 5 occasionally, now after about an hour of solid practice I'm at 6-8 feet regularly and occasionally a bit more. I still got a ways to go before hitting 3 parking stalls but it's definitely going to happen, which I wouldn't have said at the beginning of the day!

Re: The Loaded Challenge Thread
hint to any and all, nose manuals are a lot easier if you can do them going UP a slope...your body stays upright and the back wheels will come off the ground naturally, you can balance MUCH better...
when i was first learning to nosemanual on a long board a while back, i was having trouble getting it and i noticed this, then thought of physics and it makes sense
if you can find a sloped parking lot and go UP it, that will help a whole lot!

yeah I learning that practicing manuals on my bike, the bad part for me on a skateboard is that I have a trashed left ankle...probably why I also have problems with Shankers

Re: The Loaded Challenge Thread
Ah yes.. the challenge started.. I actually just learned today how to nosemanual, although ive been manualing for quite a while. It took me two hours to get the 3 spaces, and now i can do it every 1/25 times now. I think this contest is great considering theyre tricks that I dont normally do just cruising around and what not. Its a good way for people to get stoked because Loaded Boards are quite nice, and im stoked for the dancer. I few things I learned about the NM was that yes, I did look like an idiot for a while because I was doing a "tap dance" with the back and then would flop by overdoing it.. I sort of disagree w/ bending down because you dont have as much use for your hands and it looks cooler standing. I also learned that you can use as loose trucks as you have.. I used the softest bushing from exkate torsion on a spindog 45.5 inch board and found it easier than a street skate. Well ive said enough, go have fun everybody and goodluck!

Re: The Loaded Challenge Thread
EVERYONE!
I want to let everyone know that you CANNOT make one long montage of all of your tricks in order. It says on the Loaded Blog...and I quote...
"IMPORTANT: When you email your video link to us, you must reply to the actual Newsletter Challenge email in which that challenge was presented in order to get credit. We will not accept any video link submissions that are not replied via the Loaded Newsletter email. If you accidentally delete the Newsletter email, contact us at news@loadedboards.com."
I wish we could make one long montage, but we must follow the rules. I think that it may help them a little bit with judging, but I wish that we could make one long video because sometimes style can be created in Video Editing and not JUST the tricks themselves...

Re: The Loaded Challenge Thread
submitting individual clips is fine by me. i think what i'll do is compile all the challenge clips into my video part i'm working on for the end of the year. yay filler material!
and i'm gonna have to go against the "get low" thing a bit here. on a shortboard, yes, sometimes it helps to get low, but i've found it's the opposite now that i ride a big plank. i'm not saying stand straight up, but you can flail and throw your weight around a little bit better if you're not hunched over.
can't wait to see some of y'alls video submissions!

you know that part of the Loaded challenge video where Adam is pretending to try a nose manual and keeps tapping the rear and flipping the front, and then he say's you'll look like an idiot...... yup, well that's what my videos would be looking like so far
I tried for a half hour before bed last night and was able to make about one and a half spaces after only starting at two feet to half a space, so the improvement should come w/out too much trouble!
you suck

Re: The Loaded Challenge Thread
i want to see if anyone does a hang-ten nose manny for the 3 spaces.. that would be a good way to win for style! (it will NOT be me)
i found i just hang to get on the nose, get the arms out, and lift the back leg a bit to get the back up. so far so good, but more work needed on it

Re: The Loaded Challenge Thread
