Dude that's a heartbreaker. Guess you can just do the carpet-practice and dream about it until the snow melts again...

Short breakdown of rules for contest:
-10 challenges total, one a week, all have to be submitted separately and by May 21
-helmets must be worn for it to count
-any board can be used for any challenge
-anyone completing all 10 gets $150 any COMPLETE, most stylish gets a free complete

I'd think variations should be fine, if I asked for a nose manual and someone did a hang10 or 1 footed I'd be pumped! Of course maybe run it by the Adams...or also just include shots of both a reg nose and the variation in your submitted clip, that'd be the best way I'd think.

Well I got out today after classes to practice the nose manual again, turned out to be a short 20 minute session. I got one stall a few times pretty easily...then one time my nose dug in and my front heel touched the ground too. As soon as the foot caught I knew I was done, so I did my best ninja roll I could. Got my hands a little bit, but nothing too bad. Now in 2 days I have 2 crashes (yesterday trying to learn how to slide curbs; bad idea), and 2 bruised hips.

I suck at nose manuals... like really bad. You know that part of the challenge video when adam colton says "when you first start out, you're going to look bad. You're going to look like an idiot" and then it shows a little clip of him sucking really bad, that's what i looked like after practicing it for 2 hours... I guess for having never tried a nose manual before it's not too bad.

for the rest of the challenges, maybe, but i can't nose manual three parking stalls yet

i am, however, building two new boards at the moment that might make certain things a bit easier

Wheee, we had our first dry night for days yesterday, finally got to try this nose manual!
I had the nicest one last night, complete fluke, but managed to nose manual 10 spaces! After that I had trouble doing one cos I was too excited, oh well...

It takes a long time to get the hang of, at least for most of us. I looked like that before practicing, and now I can find the sweet spot, I'm just having trouble staying in it. When you start to be able to keep it up for a second, it feels great. I imagine holding it will be much more awesome.

I gotta say..it's a bit wierd that we have to wear helmets but in the video neither of the Adams are.. I guess they're professionals. I wear my helmet anyway, came in handy yesterday when I managed to smack my head off the tarmac during yesterdays attempt.

you see because its a contest sponsored by Loaded if you had cracked your melon open and died and you weren't wearing a helmet Loaded could be held liable for your death. Now if you die with a helmet on its more likely your fault or the helmets....typical lawyer speak

    no lie.....
if it wasn't for my pads I'd be one hurt puppy today, I must have fell at least 6 times.
And as a result of wearing good gear I'll be out doing the same thing again tonight.
On a lighter side, after investing about 3 hours into my nose manuals I'm up to one in a half stalls. Halfway there!! (with the hard half to go)
    you suck

True that, man. I can barely get the back of my bro's longboard to come up if i don't either:
    A. Have my foot pointing forward, towards the concrete, or
    B. Hang 10
The only problem is that my bros longboard is a landyachtz wedge flex, and the edge of the nose is right over the trucks, so slightly too much weight will flip it without warning. Yeah, I'll probably do this on my crappy Krown.
