Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Still havent been able to really ride. I rode for 10 minutes today, but my foot is still too ****ed up to ride. I'm having a hard time staying off my board. I skipped out on hockey practice, and I'm going to completely stay off my board for at least the next 3 days, I hope it works. I'm going to talk to my parents about possibly scheduling an appointment for another Cat Scan with my doctor if I can manage it.
Thank you 8ftbed, YOU ARE THE BEST!

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Just getting back into speedboarding after several months off. Lucky enough to have about a two minute run of closed road nearby with a few nice corners to drift round, nothing too fast, tops out about 30-35. Took it steady on the first run, carved a lot of it, then thought 'you pussy'. Took it flat on the second run, missed my turn in point completely on the 3rd corner, drifted across the road lost my board went up a (flat thankfully) curb across the pavement, straight into a no entry sign which opened up my shin nicely, and now my favourite skate shoes are covered in blood.
Did two more runs after that, just to prove I could still do it.

I'm just waiting for the rain to go away. I just got my Humu in the mail and can't wait to try it out. It also got delivered to my house so my parents have to bring it to me. I'm so stoke!

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
I got my shiny new Sayshun Polar in the mail today. Luckily, the roads dried up, so I took it for a quick spin. Damn is that thing precise. It is weird carving with out any flex; every little bit of pressure causes the trucks to turn immediately. According to a friend's speedometer, I was able to top the board out 16-17 mph pushing up slight hill. I really don't think that is right though. I really can't wait until Sunday when I hit up Rutgers.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
It has been raining every day since tuesday/wednesday and is forecast to go on till nex wed and my new slide gloves arrived last wed and I just got fed up and decided to go out in a break in the rain on ma dervish. Started learning how to colman. not much success. I couldent get the wheels (O'tang in heats orange) to berak free an either ended up falling back and the board rolled off or i rode fairly fast into a curb. I'm realy supriseed there was no realy noticable damage over the scratches from faiuled nose manuals evept a dent from riding into a road sign

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
It was AMAZING and TERRIBLE
Started out throwing some bigger speed checks, really holding them out at speed and finally learned how to standup 180!!! I was throwing these consistently by the end of the run, although I did get freaked out riding switch after them I was able to get my switch toeside 180s down too.
THEN I MESSED MY ANKLE....torn ligaments and its huge right now, total bummer because I didn't do it skating. Oh well, only time to heal it and race the damn winter so I can skate again this season

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
just got back into longboarding after several months (maybe a year?) off. discovered a great streach of bike path last week. nice breezy speed. a couple turns in the path. tried sliding my 78a wheels. worked ok but i think i'll get it better next time. for some reason this path is just orgasmic

This helped me out. I still grab the rail, but it brings me to a stop, so I really don't care. Also, if your wheels are new, ride them until the shiny coating is gone.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Are posts about shortboarding allowed? :x
Got my Slide-A's in the mail yesterday and slapped them on my street setup, but only got to ride them for a few minutes in my driveway late last night because I had to go to a party. and stuff. Took 'em out for real today, and they rode surprisingly soft. They feel really weird, I was expecting them to be really hard wheels. They're kinda big, a little clumsy actually -- I didn't land anything today except for ollies and a couple 180s. I'm hoping it's just that I'm not used to them, otherwise I'll hafta take them off..
Haven't busted out my sliding gloves yet, a little nervous cause I haven't done this stuff for a while. Think I'll put corian finger pucks back on again next week, we've got a whole week off for Thanksgiving.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
My feet are turning around and they seem to be heling up which is good, they are getting over their ittle panic moment. Its wierd how it flares up and then its gone. Anyway, went for a shirt ride today and felt good, gonna try to get more in. I'm hoping eveything stays perfect so that I can skate all of thanksgiving break!

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Man today was fun but painful, i only skated for about 35 minutes practicing brake checks and then i was getting kinda brave so i decided to bomb my campus' hill, i have done it about 20 times with no problem at all this time i wanted to get as much speed as i could at the top by pushing, well i think i was going about 20 mph around the hardest turn which is simple but luckily i saw the 15 passenger van sideways in the middle of the road because he was backing up into a parking space, i was going to fast to brake check or foot brake because there is a patch of cobblestone there so i went straight but then realized that about 5 feet into the grass there are telephone poles laying on the ground to stop feild hockey balls from going into the road. at this point i devoted to the idea of jettesoning myself off of my board over the telephone poles then rolling on the grass until i stopped, well now im half coverd in grass stains and my hip hurts but it was fun to fly about 15 feet in the air and come out with out too much damage. But yea that was my ride today.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
I stopped at my normal spot after work, took out my MM with the Death Rays on for the first real time... I was hitting about 30 before I knew it, those things are nice!
I have a bunch of skateboards
Isn't this what you're supposed to put in a signature?
