Rode from office to VFW for company xmas party...38 breezy when i left 28 windy when i returned...Stoke beats the cold, I win. Also got nominated for "caring award" for being green cause I skate or ride bike to or at work...Meanwhile I ride for stoke, and green is as corporately driven as anything else these days. Google climategate. Will hit garage this weekend in Huntington NY tomorrow hopefully--taking day off. Stoke rocks.

That's exactly how I feel. My ONLY friggin' final and it's the last day before it rains every day until spring, I'm sure.

Now that I'm thawed and have a moment. Morning ride at 6am it was 9 degrees, deathly still and freezing, held my morning mug-o-coffee to my face to get the feeling back, stuffed some spare hand warmers in my shoes to defrost my toes. STILL being able to board to work in Portland, OR in December sweeeeet! At least it will be near 30 degrees or so for the carve home

It is dont worry, it was 10 degrees when I went out at like 5:30. You just have to get up early enough.
And milo, you should come skate in the rain with us. It isnt really all that bad until you get too cold.

Also, Milo, we're all skating tomorrow. We're meeting at Noon at South High, but if you can make it later, give me a call. You've got my number, right?

When and where? I still don't have a board to do hills with, nay knee pads or elbow pads in sight.

I don't know if I have your number. I gotta check my PM's...

I definitely do not have one. That would be must appreciated if I could borrow it. Please note I am about 125 pounds. Will that affect the ride a terrible amount?

Went skating in NYC yesterday, holy #### was that fun.
Soooo different from where I am used to skating, that's for sure.

We parked up at 102nd st and Central Park West, and skated the #### out of Central Park until Times Square/Broadway, and blasted up Broadway traffic surfing the whole way.
Soooooo much fun!!! I can't wait to go back and skate the streets more.
It was definitely an exhausting day, solid skating all day. 8)

Made 5 downhill runs to about 40 mph in 18 degree weather yesterday. It's amazing how the cold really hardens up the wheels. They felt like rocks.

They sure felt harder. On a regular hill that I hit there are tiny cracks in the road that when warmer out I never noticed before. Yesterday I felt every one. It was kinda sketchy because every time I'd hit one there would be a sharp jolt enough to make my Evo w/Avilas bounce. Not that it was bad enough to make you wreck, but it sure was a little unexpected.

Down here on the Gulf Coast we're getting a nice stretch of wet weather. One misty day, the temperature was just about 60 deg. F, I set out for the first time to practice sliding my EVO in wet conditions. I have a new set of Durians and had trouble sliding them dry. I haven't had such a good stoke since I first got into longboarding. I can hardly wait till the next good foggy mist rolls in.

After getting my sweet sojourn in lastnight, I decided to her on her maiden voyage today.

This was my first full ride on a longboard and it turned out better than expected. I decided to ride down a dead end near my house to get comfortable with riding without having to deal with traffic. Apart from tripping on the back wheel a couple times when pushing, the only major thing that happened was getting some speed wobble on a slight slope. I remeber reading on here that speed wobbles are just a state of mind so I decided to ride it out. I'm happy to say I returned uninjured, but I realized that learning to foot break is my top priority at the moment.

I'm rather upset because I wanted to stay out longer, but the cold weather forced me back inside.
