Awesome day today. I live in Germany and the last days have been rainy and last weekend we even had snow. But today was really nice! First time a temperature above 15°C and a whole day of sun. I just woke up this morning and was stoked by the weather. So i grabbed my board and went out for a nice ride through my neighbourhood. The people who have seen me, had looked really amazed as i rode down the streets. There are not much longskaters in germany. I don't think much people even know that longboards exist. Im only boarding since last autumn, therefore i haven't got much experience. It was so *wow* to skate again.
In the afternoon i tried my yesterday built shlong. Had a nice little sliding session. Haven't got risers though and its _really_ low. Fortunatly i've ordered them yesterday

edit: maybe i should mention its 20:50h here.

today, i nailed my first shuvit.

interesting story behind it too... i've been toying around with the idea of doing it for a few sessions now. i tried it and never even got close. i can't even nose manual or g-turn. but today, i tried it the first time and boom, i landed it. a legit one... it wasn't even sketch. i was amazed, like.. "did i even just do that." Then the people i was skating with kinda had to tell me i nailed it. in any case, i just kept trying it the whole sesh.. trying to dial it in and getting close. still can't nail it consistently tho.maybe 50% of the time.

still, i'm very stoked. looking forward to sliding and learning how to manual!

    good day!

ridiculous as usual......in short my friend and I bombed like 8 good hills at this nature preserve, then went for the biggest one there. Got into the upper thirties at least no problems and rode it out to the next hill. I decided to try to turn switch back down and kinda fell off, rocketing my board down the hill. I chased after it but I didn't stand a chance and it jumped a curb into a creek. It was seriously sad I though my board was gone......luckily it's a 3/4" thick pine board and sure as #### it was floating when I got to it. Grabbed a stick and pulled it out then after a half mile walk and plenty of laughter at what had just happened I dried everything off. Doesn't seem to have hurt anything as it was only in the water for maybe 15-20 seconds, and the whole board is coated in resin/fiberglass. Time to clean out them bearings!

Yesterday's ride, actually... Went out as soon as I finished setting up my new lightning bug. Went to Auke bay, kind of out the road where not many people live, and it has a decently sized hill. My first run, a friend of my family's pulls up alongside of me, confused about what I'm doing. AND, he gives me a ride back to the top! went down again, and tried turning onto a side street near the bottom, and ended up bailing, so I tried it again, and found out just how bad of an idea it is to turn when there's gravel on the road.

So I finally just wander along this side street, fail at sliding, keep on going, then head back to the car at the top of the hill. What do you know, a deer walks across the road about thirty feet in front of me. totally stoked now!

    Last nights ride:

Went out to do some mellow riding. I ended up just pumping for a good 1 hour straight without getting off the pintail. Nothing like an empty well lit road.
Go out, skate, and enjoy the ride.

Today was the first day since last week that the weather wasn't total #### sleet and freezing cold, it was in the 60s and sunny there was barely any wind, so the bf and I cruised down to where I work. The hills aren't big but it was still great to get out. Then after work we hiked up the back of a different hill and cruised back to his house. It was sweet to finally get on my board again after sitting around on my butt for a week straight.

a few of us went riding sat. we got kicked out of a state park. ( not for skating but i guess for being in a camping area??? whatev. no signs) then kicked around the oceanfront. found some nice spots. an older guy wanted us to get his dog to chase us. (weird) but we did it and it was kind of fun. met some chill guys that showed me around to some local spots. pretty good riding!

Yeah, but in July and August when it's roasting down there it'll be in the low 80s here. I think the trade is about even.

I have to say, tho, I'd love to cruise my grandparent's development in Phoenix, if only because the pavement is smooth as glass and all the old people drive about 5 mph lol. You'd probably get yelled at by the security guards though.

Just came in off a few good runs here in St. Louis, MO, a whoppin 43 degrees
out there but at least the wind backed off here just before dark. Is is just me or

Haven't had much time to post on here at all lately.
It's snowing/raining today though, and it is supposed to keep up.
The last two weeks have been fairly nice weather though, it's been sunny and about 35-40*, I've been skating almost non-stop.
Met some new people who skate in that time too. .
Funny thing happened with one of them though, we were skating down a fairly moderate hill, and he was carving, and I don't know how it happened, but he just lost his board.. and it started rolling towards a ditch.
Problem is it's "Spring Break-up", so any ditch is moreso a water trench, and his board just disappeared. He ran over, pulled it out - and the water just poured off of it.

Yesterday we were riding a run about a mile away from where I live, and it just started snowing on us, so I guess winter isn't fully over yet.
All the sidewalks are still covered in mud/dirt/gravel/water, so they're impossible to skate, so I'm mostly skating backroads, as a lot of them never got graveled over in the first place, aside from corners/intersections.
I need a new idea for a sig.

Just got back from a 2 hour session. Two hours of pure pumping and carving. I can't/don't/won't do anything else, lol! No walking/dancing, no tricks, except for the occasional stand up slides when I carve hard. It is a freeeeeeeeeeeezing 53F here lol! Ran into some kick flippers that tried to race me on the flats, poor bastards.
Go out, skate, and enjoy the ride.
