Yeah, it feels so weird to have one foot hanging off the board like that. It gets better. Then you can steer your board left and right using only one foot!

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
just shoveled the plows handy work off the end of the driveway (after running the snow blower until it gagged on the slush). Now everything is glazing over with ice. Should I go out and try my first ever slide since the knees are bendable finally? I could probably just squat down on the board sideways at the top of the driveway and goooooo for a ride down sideways. wannabe styling and profiling.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Spent about an hour practicing my toe side predrifts, at up to about 30 mph, and there was a little kid sitting on the curb watching with his park board. I saw him trying to ollie as I was walking back up the hill, so after my last run I walked over to him and showed him what he was doing wrong. First time he tried he nailed it. Stoked. 8)

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
I shoulda done it this morning. My sidewalk and driveway was nice and clear from shoveling last night.
Except it had a half inch of ice on it now. It would definitely have been doable. I had a hard time just getting off the stoop and into the garage for a morning smoke. I don't salt. Bad for grass/plants and I've got a couple of dogs. Gone or slush now as the rain starts to move in

Rainy Day
I know you're out there. I can feel you now. I know that you're afraid. You're afraid of us. You're afraid of change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it's going to begin. I'm going to show these people what you don't want them to see. I'm going to show them a world.. without you. A world without rules or controls, without borders or boundaries. A world where anything is possible.

Ah well...I'm hoping the rain washes most of the salt/gravel away in the streets so I can ride my board after Christmas.
And hopefully the rain won't freeze up on me :P

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
####ed up in the game today. On my first real ride on teh knuckleduster I was pushing to get some real speed. I got going really fast but kicked the back wheel. The board stopped, I went flying,I basically did a two handed slide into homeplate in the middle of the street. Hands are sore, got some roadrash on my stomach, and a burn from my jeans on my right knee. Ouch, rep for first roadrash? Lol. This was my hardest fall yet. I just have to get used to having a longer board with bigger wheels. Especially after I took a little hill today for the first time I wasnt expecting to beef it on a flat. Aw well, nothing is hurt all that bad.
Thank you 8ftbed, YOU ARE THE BEST!

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
I tried to go for a ride today. It didn't go as great as I was hoping for.
First of all I made the mistake of going out when the sun was at it's peak.
Secondly I greatly over estimated the quality of the roads here. They are on the rough and gravel filled side. This island seems to lack any hills what so ever. My not being able to pump is coming back to bite me big time.
From where I stand now, it looks like I'm stuck here for another two weeks or so and am unable to cruise easily.
Stoke levels dropping!

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Finaly the ice has dissapeared off the road and I can skate : D. I went out and tried to get speed checks but only got little scrubs so I went in. Later on some kids came down my road on dervishes they got at christmas so I went out to skate a bit with them. Showed them colemans and toeside 180s and had a pretty good skate. It was to wet for it to be a realy good skate.
