Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
###### Amazing! Went to my friends neighborhood (which is like 2 mi around.. its a big circle) and just rode around it like 2 times (4 miles right there), then he was like screw this, lets race. i was like "well.. mmkay." so i gave him a big head start, cause hes new to longboarding. i ended up smoking him, only taking about 20 pushes the whole way.. which is pretty good, considering we were going on a slight incline. so after that, he went inside and i did some more pumping around, and ended up riding like 12 miles total. my calves hurt like HELL, but it was an amazing day!
Wish i would have brought my D.I.Y slide gloves, cuz he has a hill (which is pretty damn rare in FL, since its so damn FLat.. ) next to the clubhouse..
Accomplishments for me:
1. Dont fall the entire day
2. Skate over 10 mi
3. Teach someone to longboard*
*yeahh, inbetween doin pumping when my friend left, i taught this girl the basicss. it was funn, and i felt good, cuz i have bestowed the pleasure of riding on a new soul
yeahh, so.. yeah.
hope everyone's day turned out as pleasurable as mine
Edit: Oops, forgot to add that before i went back to my friends house, at like 10 pm, these other longboarders (who were high as HELL), stalked me, and tried to get me. i am proud to say i smoked the living SH!T outta them, again. (we raced when they werent high too

total newbie ive only been on a longboard for 2 days=) (total: 2hours.. an hour a day) with all the other stuff i have to do and i have no one to teach me i will try to make it a point to skate an hour a day. its kinda fun but also frustrating when i watch videos and people seem to be flying and gliding on their boards.hopefully i'll learn too. =)

pretty good! IT WAS SUNNY OUT. and warm. I almost died from happiness.
worked on stand ups and made some progression, thanks to the dust on the sides of the roads. sliding is scary! but fun.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
I met up for a short ride with my friend. He had just gotten a supermodel, which he was pretty stoked about. That board has amazing concave. It locks your feet in. The only problem was that he was running randals with durians, so he had to tighten his trucks to point of being far too tight to prevent the bites. If they made the wheel wells deeper, that board would be really amazing. I was surprised that he was able to go faster then me. Normally I can pass him on the local run but he was accelerating away from me. That kind of irritated me, but I did my first heel-side stand-up 180 today, so it is all good.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
So me and my buddy spencer (know on the fish as THEBEAST) were skateing our favorite place lately..its called casa bella. Its a huge mansion with a bunch of big hills and corners surrounding it. Completely empty all the time (except a few people driving in and out to look at the house)
Anyway..we drop our stuff where we usually do, the top of a hill in the grass. Then we bomb down and start getting footage. Were filming this corner for like a half hour when a silver toyota carola comes in, we wave, and he continues up the hill to get a look at the home. We think nothing of it, but when we start heading back up the hill, we notice all of our #### is gone! This mother####er stole my phone, spencers phone, my gps, my camelpack, ipod, and my tripod. We didnt know what to do, the next couple that came to the house let us use their phone and my dad came and got us. He texted my phone and told the guy to bring it back or hes going to call the police. The guy calls, brings all our #### back, and we continue skateing.
Sorry for the long post

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Since today was the first I didn't need to wear a bajillion layers before going outside, I thought it was a sign that I needed to go riding. Where's a better place to riding than the park near by?
Sinces it's been a couple months I decided to begin with I'd ride a VERY short practice road near my house. It went much smoother than previosuly, since all the salt and sand is off the road.
I live at the top of a short yet steep hill that ends in an extremely high traffic road. A tempting as it may be, it wouldn't be safe to ride it. So I end up having to walk down and find a nice spot to start off from. Well much to my surprise all of the annpoying salt and sand that was on the roads is now on the side walks(Again it's a skinny high traffic road so rising on it is out of the question). I ended up walking a further into town, until the sidewalks cleared up and I could actually ride on them.
PRO TIP: When riding on a small sidewalk DO NOT run your hand against a chain link fence to try and slow you down.
So I finally found some barely rideable roads, but they weren't condusive to my stoke.
After about a half hour of trying to cruise around, I finally made it to the park. Much to my surprise alot of the pavement there had been taken out and replaced with gravel. With my stoke for this town on a rapid downhill, I remebered that there was a paved hill road that I used to bike on. I decided to set in search of the road and hope that it was still how i remebered it.
To make a long winded story shorter: the hill's still paved, but the pavement is very rough and I could easily see it chewing up wheels. On the plus side there was some fresh pavement around the entrance. It would probably be ok for basic sliding and what have you.
Shortly after I gave up and decided to head back home. On the way out some kid called me a ### for wearing a helmet when I ride. I would have normaly made a witty remake back, but stoke levels were dropping rapidly. I tried skating where ever I could find some useable pavement, but there wasn't much to be found.
Finally to top the whole thing off: I was about five minutes away from home and a cop car pulled beside me.The officer asked me a couple questions like "where are you headed?" that sort of stuff. After a minute or so he left without a hassle or anything.
All and all I'm rather upset with this town. All the roads are in some state of disrepair and I can't even ride in the park unless I want my feet to go numb from the vibrations. Hopefuly I'll find a hidden gem to ride somewhere around here, but in the mean time I feel like I'm just left out in the cold.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
first ride of the season...the snow finally melted! now granted the ride consisted of me skating to class and back....but after a loooooooong winter of no skating it felt SO good to get back out and ride. even for just 10 minutes.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
is all the snow downstate gone? i live up in the UP of michigan and we still have a bit, but its been oddly warm for march. problem is, here we use sand instead of salt on ice, so now that the sidewalks have no snow, theyre as sandy as the beach but its raining right now, and hopefully its gonna wash that sand away. hopefully this weekend will be full of rides

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Awesome awesome awesome! Today was awesome.
I've been worried for the past few days about losing my stoke. I kept falling and messing up on stupid easy things, plus my board fell into a giant mud puddle and my bearings were all ####ed up. But today was great! I got new bearings, rode to school for the first time this week, and my favourite path was finally clear of snow and water so I didn't have to ride on the shitty sidewalk.
AND after I got home I just messed around on the street in front of our house, and my cross steps have gotten infinitely better. So smooth, so carvy, so delicious! I used to just look at cross steps as a trick to show off sort of, but now I'm addicted to the feeling of them. I also worked on some variations, and landed switch cross steps on the first try!
Yeah. so much for losing my stoke!

We need some sunshine! We go from snow to rain. Michigan is not so great for longboarding.
I got some shovits down indoors though. Carpet is great for learning. hah.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Past couple days have been amazing!
The snow is all gone, weathers now up to +15 (Celsius), perfect for jeans a long tee, or hoodie! Rode my new board today probably for a total of 5 hours. (1/2 ride to and from school. then cruising around in my spare time) I dont have big hills in my area which sucks!, but in the downtown district, we got some nice rolling hills, where you can get some goood speed. So i sat at the top, looking into downtown. Waited till i saw no cars behind me for a while, and took off down the road. Practicing my new tuck, i got up to maybe 45KM/H, which is preettty fast, compared to speeds im used to. I was a little nervous, but i just held it strong, rode out nice smooth carves and enjoyed the first perfect day of the year!
Looking forward to when the salt is COMPLETELY off the road, becuase right now is brushed to the curbs, and when i car is pushing behind me, i have now choice but to stick it close to the curb, right through the remaining salt and gravel, AWFUL. But in all, im loving my new found lifestyle of longboarding, and will continue it for a longgg time!

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
I've been riding to and from school the last few days, which is a good 3 miles each way,all pretty much flatland. It's amazing,I'm still getting used to my new LY Drop Speed,852 Grizzlies and flashbacks. I'm hoping to get the BC Eel with Otang In Heats before the 70's weather comes. I'd been waiting so long to board, and it's great.
