Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
It's been raining to much here to go board for the last week or two, sure we have a few patchs of sun, but rarely a full day or two of it. But on the few chances I have gotten to go surf some sidewalk, it's been great! I just bought and put on my new bearings (Reds) and my Apex 37 rolls so much further!!!!
One of my best friends just got into longboarding, along with my brother and I have to say after the first two times out, they were both stoked and wanted to get a board. So my buddy bought a Sector 9 pintail and my bro got a Loaded Vanguard, my buddy is under the distinct impression that he will be able to smoke me and my other buddy (who happens to be WAY better than myself) in a flat out race, I can't wait to leave him in the dust lol. Tonight we're putting together my bros board, it's suppose to clear up and be nice sunday and monday, so i'm thinking we're all gonna hit Alki sunday and maybe do another nite ride with more people monday night.
The sun is hiding for the moment, but when she shows her bright self again, I'll be ready to play!

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
i haven't gone out yet... but its about 9AM here, 5 degrees Celcius outside. Water from yesterdays rain on the ground... and misty fog in the air. I have plans to meet with some people, and the only way I can, is if i longboard through this all. this is gonna be one hell of a longboarding day

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Took the day off, slept in, started the pulled pork for tacos tonight, got my blood draw for more tests (wohoo, NOT!), watched a movie while I worked on my board, cleaned & lubed all the bearings, getting ready to meet up with my brothers for a longboardin sess. After all that, I get to finish off the day with family and fresh pulled pork TACOS!!!!!!

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
today while practicing standeez on my board, i met two kids who were into longboarding... i told em to hit me up anytime and if they needed a board because i would press one for them. they seemed stoked on going fast... it was pretty cool.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
I found out that clean hills ride alot faster than salty/sandy hills. Needless to say I ate it on a hill I was confident on under the prior conditions. I'm going to stick to flat land and maybe some sliding until I'm comfortable with this whole "clean road" thing.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
I just remembered I forgot to share my stoke-ish story with SF!
So, I went riding with my bro and my dog today, since it was so nice out.
And my dog was being an idiot, and started tweaking out when another dog was walking by. So my brother was all like "Whoa Lucy (dog's name)! Calm down blah blah blah" so I hopped off my board to get her from him.
Well...my board started running away. It wasn't a steep hill or anything, just enough of a slope to let it go. And, of course, a car was coming.
The old (like 55 years I guess) man who was driving didn't see it until he saw the look of horror on my face, and his wife was shocked as well. BUT it turns out the indy's are really low, so it JUST cleared underneath his car and went straight through. So ZERO damage!
I was stoked. and when the guy saw my relieved expression, he gave me the rock on hand symbol with his tongue sticking out. My unfortunate events spread stoke to old people.
it turned out to be a pretty good day

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Had the biggest stoke ride ever tonight. went tot he Downs at 3AM for a night sesh that ended up in a race between me and my roommate. Just got my voodoo set up on hybrid indy 215's with royal baseplates, 93/88 barrels and 80a 4pres's on a shock pad, no bite. Also finally put bearing spacers in my decks which severely helped our bomb.
First we took a couple of practice runs, then we hit a steep, mellow hill. he caught me from the start and I didn't draft. Second hill is a hill that as it turns, leads into an even steeper hill that accelerates fast. I took the lead, and he drafted me and passed my shitty tuck (was a bit sketched). After that i got my game face on and beat him on the mellow hill. After that we took to the sketchy hill where he took the lead, where i took a strong pass at the bottom of the hill. After that we took the mellow hill hard, and stayed neck and neck the entire way down. Last hill on the way back, we took it pretty fast and he got going at first a bit faster, but as we hit the bottom and went into a bend i took the inside for the pass.
over all greatest race session of my life, which is bad lol. lovin the voodoo on indy's and 70mm wheels. Rides as low as a FSM with 50* randals and durians.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
A bummer ride today...I live at the top of a 1/2 mile long, mellow hill, so the trip down is always good, BUT I f'd up my foot Monday, and was using a Kahuna Land Paddle to push myself back up - apparently my upper body isn't quite as muscliscious as I'd hoped. I had to get off and walk. No kick = no fun.
I'll let myself heal and hopefully next time will be better.
