Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Cruised around my neighborhood and found a nice hill that goes about 25-30 mph which is pretty nice cause there's barely any hills in Phoenix.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Yeah I went with Leigh up to The Eagle (this great spot) and this guy in a minivan with two kids in carseats in the back pulls up, and says he wants to see us bomb it, follow us down and help by blocking the traffic.
He seemed like a OK guy so we bombed the hill with him in chase.....he was good, he kept his distance, .....and he met us at the bottom. ,
.....and then he gave us a lift back up the hill.!!!.... 8)
It then turns out I coincidentally knew the guy , he was an old friend from high school who I hadnt seen in more than 20 years!! That was cool.

Seriously? That's awesome! Kinda ruins the friendly unknown Samaritan scenario. Still a cool coincidence.
I spent yesterday sliding down to town nearly getting my picture taken for a boobs & motors mens magazine here in Norway. The guy who suggested it though was quite drunk after sharing a bottle of jegemeister with a bud of his that had passed out in the sun. So after hanging around a bit in the sun I decided to skip the shoot (seeing as the photographer was a no show) and continued my day in the sun with my two gals (my EW Corchia and my girlfriend).

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
I have a serious case of wanderlust. did almost 7 miles on the board today over about an hour or so, taking a short break in the middle to get a drink. Had some fun DHing in the park, but my cell phone fell out of my pocket at around 25mph, cracking the battery cover and chipping the hard antenna. oops

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
I hit a nice little hill I found a while back. I saw a kid on a Nosewalker and a kid on a popsicle, they looked like they were laughing at me for wearing a helmet or something, then asked me about my board. I bombed the hill and there was another kid, probably around 11 or 12 on an older S9 messing around, he was really interested when I came flying by. He asked about my board and told me he usually trick skates but he messed up his ankle so he's messing around with longboarding for a while. Then a little kid on a bike showed up and watched, then they got super stoked when I busted some colemans. The kid's dad came by and he made him watch me bomb the hill. Yet another kid on a shortboard showed up and watched for a while, rode the other kid's board around a bit. Then I was making a run and saw a truck coming up the turn at the bottom so I cut my line wide. Hit some gravel, the board slid out and I skidded down the gutter. Got a little road rash, I was doing around 20ish when it happened so I'll chalk it up to luck. I need to get some pads... it was surreal though, when I was sliding on my side, I heard a clinking sound and looked over to see the wrench that was in my back pocket go bouncing down the sidewalk. All in all a good day.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Skated to the town near mine, and came back a slightly different way. Instead of dropping straight into town, I took the long way around - proved to be a pretty fun cruise. There was no sidewalk, but there was a fairly nice shoulder along the entire road, it was probably about 2 miles, of very light downhill.. Enough so that a few pushes, and I coasted the entire way, but wasn't really gaining speed or anything.
I need a new idea for a sig.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Completed my first commute to work via longboard. Took 10 minutes. No major problems. Maybe a tad sweaty when I got here so I may chill out on the pushing a bit. My ride is a series of streets with a fun section on a footpath through a wooded area. Two short downhills. I even go past a small skatepark so if I am early to work...

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
loving then hell out of my roggs when i get the time. Learned colemans on straight down hill with this board recently as opposed to using my slides to make a big stretch out bert on banks. just pushing my speed on the limited amount of hills in my area and trying to add style. All of this = more fun when i skate and less posts & comp time.
"And if I was brave, I'd climb up to you on the mountain,
They led you to drink from their fountain spouting lies.
And I'd slay the horrible beast they commissioned
To steer me away from my mission to your eyes.
And I'd stand there, like a soldier, with my foot upon his chest,
With my grin spread, and my arms out, in my bloodstained Sunday's best,
And you'd hold me; I'd remind you who you are under their shell."

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
I'm finally starting to get my shuvits dialed in. Thank god, it took long enough. Tomorrow I plan on really smoothing them out so that I hit them and ride off clean on a regular basis. G-turns, here I come.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
just by myself today as all my riding buddies from school live a bit far away to drive to for some riding on a whim, what with the price of gas and all. it drizzled here in MN today, so things were wet. i need to buy some new bearings as i've unofficially devoted my current set to rain duty (3 wet rides). anyways, i hit some little park paths and the park's lot, and then the big hill down the street from the park. prolly hit 30-35 as a car coasting down the hill will hit 40, and i wasn't quite keeping ahead of traffic. did that about 4 times til i was tired of walking back up and it started raining again. fun day tho, nice to get out for a ride and now i have some spots i def. wanna hit again in the dry/with my buds!
oh, and this morning i started an internship w/target, and since i overplanned how long it would take me to get where i was going, i drove around looking for some garages, haha.i came across one that was just 8 stories or so but then there was a second one kinda connected to it. looked fun at least

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
20 miles on the road mostly into a headwind...still lots fun...I must have passed 6-7 cops who just smiled and waved as I skated by...

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
its getting cold here now , so Ive noticed how my knees are getting stiffer after the morning commute,
my main drag to work has been speckled with loose stones from a building site (trucks) up the hill , I was on my way into town and had to make a sharp pull over to the side because of traffic, where I noticed all this loose stone gravel . arrrhh,,, a bit bumpy and slidy ,, apart from that it business as usual
Im bumping into people around town now that recognize me from the morning rides to work, So i get all the " thats the way to save gas" or " I see you can go quite fast on that thing". and I'm like YEP!
want a go..lol,which often gets a laugh and a shake of the head accompanied be a NO!
petrol is $2.01 a liter here , so 4 USD per gallon is pretty good,
I might see more long boards out on the street soon, heres hoping.

I love it when people don't really know what to think as they see you flying down the hill at them.
Then we drove over to an awesome spot we found the other day in a rural-ish neighborhood where there are no cars whatsoever and cared/bombed hills for a while. I find I am fine carving at the top of hills, but once I hit maybe 25 I don't really want to move around too much so I just bomb. It gets the adrenalin flowing when you reach that skate or die speed.
I need to learn to coleman. My new airwalks are already worn most of the way through the sole one the right shoe from foot breaking. I worry about coning my flashbacks (side-set wheels) though.
Do a parallel slide for a safety slide, much more efficient in those terms.
