i for one dont like to skate in the rain since i know the bearings are going to rust... but hey it was fun! was it worth it? ill have to check the bearings when they dry
Storm signal No. 3 in your side of the pond. That's typhoon/ monsoon stuff. I suppose you islanders are use to it.
OK. Roll the stone slow or not.
Met a cute gal longboarding yesterday (skate day), at the bakery. We'll skate again this time next week. She has muscles!

I rode just over 5 miles today borrowing my brothers board... We rode to the beach club for lunch, then to the local amusement park, then some riding around the neighborhood

freakin excellent. lots of cruising, not hot out but sunny, a little popsicle board action in there too, some boardwalking, nose pivots, etc. always a good day when i get to skate.

pretty chill, hit up a local mountain road, a little hot on the walk up (no cars allowed) but the 2 mile downhill bomb made it all worth it...

10-story parking garage at midnight (smooth as ice). The working elevator makes it easy to last for hours and its the only place within a few miles of my house that I can get away from any cars at a decent hour of the night.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Me and my friend were just casually skating down a freshly paved hill next to some houses. So an old dude who doesn't know #### about dogs and doesn't deserve to get one, decides to jump out and take photos of us. I think it was because his dog kept on barking while we were there, but he never ever corrected the dog he just let it bark and decided we were the problem.I don't know why he didn't just walk up to us and ask us to leave if we were a problem. Just so goddamned weird to take a photo and like report it withouth even talking to us...

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
I skated last night for the first time in like a couple of weeks. I was doing this huge parking lot with a nice decline at about mid night, then I heard tires screech and a loud boom right down the street. I went to go see if everyone was alright and it was just one guy who took a right urn tooooo hard and hit the curb and ####ed his car up bad, he didnt want my help when I asked him. I think he felt more dumb than anything, plus he was blocking traffic. BTW Skating alone sucks

That's actually not true. You can sue if your photo was taken and was used without permission. However, that isn't true for celebraties. There was a supreme court ruling saying they have different rights because they're placed on a pedestal for being special. Not sure about the details but I distinctly remember reading about it. (of course I've been COMPLETELY wrong before)

you can take a picture of anyone in secrecy but problem occurs when you go public with it.
moral of story: keep your private stuff private or the private object may take into public court.
when someone doesnt like me taking pictures, i show them the camera review of it and delete it "right away!"
99% of the pictures taken aren't useful anyway. you can always ask first and explain what the pic is for but there is no guarantee what is said will actually take place somewhere down the line. So throw out the baby with the bathwater!

sorry dude im gonna have to call bullshit here. the whole point of freedom of the press is that you can print anything that isn't libel. now if you took a photo of a mayor smoking a cigarette and reported it as being a marijuana joint, then that's illegal. That's libel, because it damages the reputation of the subject with untrue claims.
if you're in public, on a public property (ie, not indoors on private property) you can publish any and all photos taken at that location. no matter what's in them.
Film on the other hand is quite different, you must have release forms and such which is why most people on COPS will have blurred faces.

Also, did some reading up on swedish law and found the allemansrätten, which says you can trespass anywhere without repercussion as long as you're not invading privacy. I'm not sure how this coincides with journalism in sweden but im curious. zampraz, do you have any references or links i can read about? I know some swedish so if they're in swedish it's fine. I'm wondering because im interested in living there at some point.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
just got back from today's DH runs. it was awesome. someone advised me to flip the hangers on my R-IIs so i did. loved it. so much more comfortable. i was so into skating today i barely even noticed the cutie in the pink shirt and white skirt with blonde shoulder blade length hair and green eyes walking her dog barefoot in the neighborhood. haha yeah man, the flipped R-IIs are much more stable than regs. today was a good day. swung out from a blind turn and hurried to a sliding stop 10 ft from a dodge ram, but other than that, today was good.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Did a big ass loop today on the hills around my house. I start off with a dowhill run down a nice ass hill goin like 40. After that, I have to walk a HUGE HILL. Walking up this hills a bitch, but its worth it cuz the rest of the loop is DH from there. 8)
