depressing... raced with a few guys tonight. got beat by my own evo... a buddy wanted to take it on a run and ended up beating me by a good 30 yards... i felt so shitty... but i wasnt on a board set up for downhill so i'll blame it on that.

Was sitting here shirking work and reading chatter from all the silverfish bushings geeks when I was like, hey, maybe I can take the black jimz out of my grizzlies and put them in my indy/core frankentrucks? Took the superglider for a dash to my favorite hill--jimz top (closer to the baseplate, right?)/red khiro insert bottom in front, bennett barrel top/red khiro insert back--and it kinda rocked. More better urethane = more better. Skated back to cannibalize the other grizzly for the back and now I'm off to test it. Productive work day!

Finally rode down the hill entirely from my work carving the sidewalk...I usually footbrake halfway down otherwise I'll wobble to death. With the way my Flexdex C29's set up, it can easily carve the sidewalk and control my speed. My next step is to take it down a block and ride the larger hill...provided no cars get in my way.

My friend who was also skating home on my mini, tried carving at a higher speed and the wheels slid out under him. (krown wheels, not very grippy at all, good sliding wheels?)

Anyone here ever hurt their insides to prevent falling?

I was practicing some cross-stepping on my way up to the main strip here at MSU to buy some books, yeah books, and it has some mellow hills on the way there. I was practicing on my cross-stepping on a paved hill, then was practicing my cross-stepping at a higher speed on a sidewalk hill. My board started bouncing when I was in the back of it and I launched off the front and somehow managed to outrun it. I hit on my feet and jolted so hard that my insides hurt. It was ridiculous. But I didn't have any pads on and I REFUSED to get road rashed.

It was a sick ride though...

Stayed up all night at my friends house to go early morning skating. Went out at 5:15am and walked up to this 40mph tech. run, but it was being repaved and there were metal grates bumps/cracks in it, aswell as water around a g-turn. At the top it was perfect pavement so i decided to do it anyway....and would just pendy before the water. I end up going thriugh the water first (cus its 5:30am and im cracked out from no sleep) and THEN doing the slide, and the water makes me almost slide into the curb. Then there is was nice straight away thats say low 40s and skated that and that was fun......but now im starting to cone my wheels.

I was skating the same downhill section I was talking about early with the sidewalk, and it's just absolutely loaded with people. So I'm bookin' down this hill at a decent speed, and I am just weaving in and out like it's my jay oh bee, and it was quite a rush. I think a video is needed.

this week's not my week. I've drifted into a guardrail, been bucked off standup sliding, and just yesterday i was doing an ollie, hit a rock, and opened my scabs up. Today, i decided to take a break from skateboarding, and i promptly went over the handlebars on my bike. Maybe tomorrow will be less painful.

so me and my new roommate went for a cruise tonight. we jumped the school shuttle and had it drop us off at the southern most part of the beach and skated the board walk 4-5 miles to the pier. it was like 10 oclock and kind of cold but an amazing ride. downtown santa barbara is so beautiful. and there is an all cement pool skatepark by the beach thats absolutely free. im going to hit it up maybe tomorrow night. the cool thing was that there were only like 3 people there because it was so late but there was still tons of light because it was right by the end of state street (the street than runs through downtown).

me and a friend took a light rail to downtown san jose and started to cruise around. Although im not a college student, we saw some with longboards at SJSU and i felt cool saying nodding my head to them as they nodded back. Then we saw an expo and skated all around it doing some pedestrian slalom. We found a spot filled with tons of skaters but didn't bother to go near them with our longboards, then we found these 2 tunnels. Both tunnels were filled with graffiti, spraypaint cans, paintcans, paint brushes, and spraypaint can and paintcan and paint brushes recipts all over the place. we went about 100m in and it got pitch black except for the random patches of light. I got scared and skated the hell out of there. Some indiana jones adventure.
I saw the advantage and took it, thats what heroes do.

perfect. absolutely perfect. i dont have classes on tuesdays so i was slept in till 11:30 and woke up just in time for "make your own burrito" day in the dinning commons. then went for a ride. santa barbara is amazing. my school is real rich so i jumped the shuttle they have and ran into town on it. started at the end of the board walk, cruised the 5 milesish roundtrip to the pier/cement skatepark and back. flip flops, boardshorts and ipod. it was great. then on my way to the pier my best friend from back home calls so we talked the whole ride. made it even better. sat at the bus stop for a while just to enjoy the view and my surroundings really taking it in that i live here now (but im from san diego which isnt any different so idk why). then i got back up and skated into montecito which isnt really legal but its whatever. then i decided to walk back because i wasnt near any of the shuttle stops and it was only 3 miles to school. hitched a ride with a guy in a G35 for part of the way, walked about a mile, then got picked up by a couple upperclassmen girls.

    today was good.

Today marked the start of the fall semester, and I had a four hour gap to kill between classes. I had brought first born, and decided to cruise through campus. It was pretty damn fun. Worked on my pumping, did some pedestrian slalom, even bombed a not steep hill. I received all sorts of odd looks from people as they heard my wheels clacking against the concrete, and am sure there were more from those who had me turn around them. Even the resident short boards gave me funny looks.Altogether I probably skated around 3 miles, and if my ankle isn't acting up tomorrow (sprained my ankle a few months back) I'll do it again.

Well thought I'd drop my 2 cents here. I have come to quite enjoy my daily ride. It's pprobablit about 5-10 km on a slight decline slope. The fun part is that it's all most all on the side walk pedestrian slalom style. any how here you go, it should be the featured vid
