I figured out how to pump my dervish. The dervish is very fast and comfortable to ride. overall a great purchase.

Just got back from a nice skate. It's pretty much a mile straight 1 way so it's not that steezy or anything but it helped me get the hang of my new board. I dropped by the new gym and pool that was being built during my whole senior year of high school, and wow that's what a few million dollars will get you.

went out to a local park last night. usually i take all my gear with me but this time i was like oh i wont need it, i havent so far... my mistake this time -- i was on my buddies board. hes roughly... 60lbs lighter than me. first thing i did was drop in and catch wheel bite... went straight down. messed up my elbow, couldnt bend my arm for a while, still all swollen. for a while, i quit skating all together haha. man last night sucked.

i was ridin my board maybe a week ago makin a subway/711 run and i was cross stepping down a sidewalk and my back foot hits my jeans, so i fly off and my fairly new flexdex flys into an intersection, flys under a car but luckily doesnt get run over, cuz im runnin it with bennet vectors that cost me like 60 dollars, but anyway it keeps going and rolls onto the other side on the sidewalk and makes it into the grass. whew, so i make it to subway and decide to get new bearings, i have a skateshop down the street, i find out the owner dave has the munchies (again,) so i watched him eat his weird lookin mac and cheese thats strangely dark colored, then i make it home again and take a nap

A flex 5 vanguard showed up in the mail today, so I sat down to work, popping my Paris180s/Bennett gators (70mm, 78a) on it and went for a nice ride. It was weird riding a relatively flat deck, after spending so much time on a Complex it feels very strange. I'm in the process now of swapping the Paris180s for Holeys, to see how that setup suits me. I've also come to the realization that I'm not a big fan of the stock Paris bushings, and while they were decent on my Complex, I'm going to start looking for some replacements.

khiro blue bitches, if you get the holeys, get the "smoke" bushings, very fluid, very turny, use lithium grease on them as well. you'll love it.

as for my daily commute/ride, popped my ipod in, practice some solid cross stepping, tried to do some swith cross stepping, not very good at it, at all. working on some nose manuals. the weather was awesome, about 75f. a great breeze at my back too, made the pushing alot more effortless. a good ride indeed.

Been skating so much lately! Stayed up all night last night to do some early-morning dh runs---It was awesome!! The pavement was brand new asphalt and had some straight open sections like 40-45, then in to a haipin! Been practicing tucking through turns and just being "faster." Im really loving speedboarding, and the feeling you get from it! Later practiced some toeside speedchecks, and tried a little no-hands drifting!

I seem to have contracted some sort of lung infection its bloody horrible, all my puff is gone. anyhow I was up early for a skate , went for a sort bomb slowy making my way up a rather step hill with a blind left hand bend. but with no gloves I was taking it easy.
so I decide to go for a skog/cruise ended up doing 8 1/2 km before I ran out breath due to the lungs feeling bad.
Ive noticed people are alot nicer in the mornings when Im out ..often get a smile

Was straight bombing a hill in the middle of a nearby town for 2 and half hours this afternoon (yes, I was wearing all my safety gear ), nothing too fast anyway. Same hill that I got really hurt on end of the summer - only this time I had my Eclipse so it was super easy - even with the trucks really loose and soft bushings I had on it. Didn't get any speed wobbles so I was delighted. I cruised around the town for a little while today too and went down a road I wasn't familiar with that was kind of rough at first.... then got even rougher.. add rocks... then a steep surprise drop at the end to an even steeper hill than I had been on only covered in rocks and broken pavement - YIKES. So many rocks it was all I could to keep the board under control at speed so I wasn't about to try and foot brake to a stop so I rode it out. Was scary as hell. I finally got slow enough in one part a bit later to to hop and run it out but damn that freaky. So I learned my other lesson today: walk your hills / roads first. I really thought I was going to end up bailing on that one.

Overall I had fun but I think I like carving and cruising around more-so than straight bombing a hill anymore though. It's just more interesting for me - but the speed was nice and the wind was a great way to cool down from the 30 C heat we had today. As we were leaving town we saw the spot for next time we are in that town and will go back to skate main street no less since it looks like it will be a nice long cruise with plenty of super-smooth pavement and wide road.

I perfected my pumping board. I put a bushing toe stop on the front left truck screw, wedged the front truck, dewedged the back, loosened the trucks up a bit. It's just a dream. You give it a small push, lock your feet in and you just fly away.

Still got to get that perfect setup on my dervish, though.

Hit a few spots, everyone was being a vag so I had to fly solo... then I got a $142 speeding ticket because of a momentary lapse in judgment driving to another spot. There goes the Bigfoot I was looking at.

I didn't have such a great day. I was so excited to skate today and got there to the spot and after 5 minutes - charlie horse! Owwwww.... when it finally went away I skated around for another 10 minutes or so then... CHARLIE HORSE.Grr... recovered for a while then skated around in a parking lot; started doing a really hard carve... HUGE rock, EJECTED. Didn't get hurt other than my pride though. Got back up and skated down the road and went around a couple school buses that were parked and turned back out around them then... ROCK... EJECTED, off the road and into the gravels and then the ditch. .... I didn't get any injuries from it but man this just wasn't my evening. The constant cramping up in my legs and feet made it uncomfortable to ride and my balance was a bit off too so I felt awkward. Skated back to another parking lot to cruise for a while.. CHARLIE HORSE again! More waiting.. more skating, another cramp, then back to waiting then repeat this process for another 45 minutes or so and I finally threw in the towel for the day and sat down the rest of the evening. I was really down because I really wanted to skate today and I wont get a chance tomorrow.

i had my first real taste of serious DH on the weekend. so the opera house carpark last night felt very slow and boring -- either my confidence at speed has been boosted, or my bearings have suddenly turned to ####
