I went cruising tonight around campus on my Dervish. Did some nice cross steps, switch walking dealios, and a few slides. Probably like 3 miles in the 2 hour session. Tomorrow, a bunch of UCF students are gonna hit up a campus session. gonna be sicky gnar gnar.

on a side note, my rayne hellcat arrives tomorrow. can you say orgasm?
I love my dancer more than someone loves to use ellipses. Seriously, what the **** is up with you and using "...." in literally EVERY ****ing post? It keeps me awake at night.

just hit up a late night apartment parking lot sesh with my newbie roommate. hit first time on a board. its safe to say he's definitely addicted. offered me 100$ for my uluwatu.

anways, i pulled some super solid cross stepping, never done it so smooth before, must have been from some of that extra newbie stoke floating in the air.

here is a thought. why are you still on your arse reading this. get up, grab your board, and get to shredding. no time like the present.

ran into a couple of people from another crew last night as well as having a new longboarder (a friend of a street-skating friend) along, always good to see new faces trying the next step beyond just using it for transport!

did my usual route tearing up the city tonight. only got one run in the opera house before Cliff saw me on the monitors and booted me (we know each other quite well now, cool guy). which i don't mind too much because after trying some real DH on the weekend, the o-house carpark seems very slow and mellow now

on the skate home from the train i hit some roadkill (possum) while in a full tuck and going at a decent clip, thank god it was pre-flattened for me or it would've been a bit of an issue.

my legs are killing me now... i've been out skating after work 4 nights this week!

I didn't board that much today, maybe an hour, but it was good. I decided today to conquer this big (for me, have about 4 real days under my belt) hill on my driveway, and I did it! But then reality hit me when I was going way to fast to be able to make the turn that was a bit ahead of me, so I had to put my noob footbreaking skills to their test and I thought I was going to be able to pull it off, but my foot skipped and hit my rear wheel and I did a belly slide . It could have been quite a bit worse, my elbows are pretty much okay, bled a little on my right and just a bit of road rash on my left, and my hands were pretty okay, right was fine, left is still oozing that clear plasma ####. I tore my shirt a bit, but I don't really wear it that much cuz it's sorta big. I was totally okay with the bail though cuz I conquered the hill I'm going to have to work on foot breaking a bit more before I decide to go down hills though

This is my first "extreme" sport that I've really done, so I'm just glad that I was able to prove to myself that a few falls aren't going to stop my from having a good time.

A good sesh can overshadow the worst of bails!

I've been trying to convince my friend to get a board for awhile, and today we stopped by his fraternity to find that one of his friends had a longboard hanging from the ceiling of his room. Apparently he's never used it or anything, but said he got it from another friend. We asked to borrow it for awhile and he agreed to it, so now my buddy has a board and we hit up the parking garages around campus today to do some carving. The ROTC kids were looking at us kinda funny, but otherwise it was a good session.

Rode about 5 miles today then started to get rained on so had to take the subway home. I'm really getting used to skating in NYC traffic now though. I've been skating down 8th Ave the length of Central park and then at 42nd I switch over to Broadway because I LOOOOVE the green bike trail thing there. NYC needs more of those! The pavement is super smooth and the bike lane lights minimize the risk of me getting hit by a turning cab, speaking of I wish the damn cabs would use turn signals on occasion! The supremely awesome bike path on Broadway discovery made me happy since last week when I found it. Good find and just in the same area where 8th's bike-path gets dodgey.
Did almost get hit by a SUV limo that wasn't using a turn signal today. I had right of way, wasn't going too fast for safety reasons. Driver saw me, looked right at me and then proceeded to turn right into me. I skidded to a stop 18 inches from his hood and he eventually stopped too, seemed pissed at ME. Stupid cars. Convinced me I should get a helmet though. Helmet shopping is on the list for tomorrow. All and all a good day.

yeah, thats the way to look at it. doesn't matter if you're new to it, you're having fun doing something that 95% of people would never even want to try, let alone stick with it after stacking for the first time...

lol. my bad dude. hey, practice makes perfect though.

as for my ride... i was carving backwards, doing some spinning/walking/dancing carves. the backwards carve is kind of fun, until you eat it. got some road rash, the kind where it just sort of rubs that top layer of skin off to reveal some red meat underneath. really stings, not gonna lie, i cried from my elbow to my wrist is nothing but a really crazy pavement burn. the scabbing is going to be insane a week from now.

oh well. it was definitely worth it. ill be back out tomorrow no doubt

I had another ride today, third time on the board........... SOOOO good. I spent 2.5 hours just cruising around the city mall and sidewalks, and there's a wicked community park close by with brick paths all the way through, good bits of up and down and some fun turns and stuff. I nearly ate sh!t a couple of times lol,

My legs are like jelly and I can barely walk hahaha but totally worth it. My pumping is really coming along, I can maintain speed up a slight incline now and on flats/decline I can pick up quite a bit of speed.... w000

Was lucky enough that it didn't rain anymore today and it dried up so I got to skate today. Went to my favourite spot to cruise around and get some exercise and just chill. Had my mp3 player I use for skating with me and listened to tunes while cruising around until I had to leave. Mid 70's... nice weather; was a great ride.

Took the Superglider out in the rain/mist/drizzle/crap for a +/- five-mile spin to do some errands. Have to clean the bearings anyway. Lots of slippery-slope footbreaking on the hills. Not the most fun ever but much better than dying walking. Really noticed how my Vans have no tread left. Came back home and screwed around with my new Thruster (EW whore 'r' us ) for a while--harder bushings, risers, etc.--to try to get rid of the wheelbite that busted up my elbow last week. Angled risers did the trick. Rain stopped. Roads dried. So I took it out for a test spin in the parking lot of the cruise ship terminal behind my house. The Queen Mary 2 was there, lit up at dusk like a UFO. Huge. ####### gorgeous. And n00bie me got some good slides in and figured out how to do a little acid drop. All in all, the day on a scale from 1 to 10: an unlikely 6.

today i broke my stupid sector nine. i was practicing old school kickflips ( i have completed loaded challenge series 2 and 3 but not 1 which i'm doing now) and when i came down on the board the nose went across my knee and my foot landed on the back truck and the tail just broke. i mean, the board has taken a beating but now it just totally snapped. i still have my flexdex 29 but its real short and i just cruise on it and bust a shuv it or two. so now im angry cuz i need monies for a LOADED DANCER!!!!!!!!!!!!! rawrz rawrz rawrz rawrz rawrz rawrz rawrz rawrz rawrz rawrz

Today me and the wifey chalked up 30+ miles on Seattle's Burke Gillman trail. Good times! Wife took the Arbor Blunt and I took the SoCal drop deck...I seemed like there is more down hill from north east to southwest than the other way. We made good time and pigged out on tacos for dinner! A good day.

    PICS?

Today I rode down by the lake in town on the bike path for half hour maybe, I was riding into a strong headwind and got real tired after a while so I turned around and pumped the tailwind nearly the whole way back to the car cause lol, then went into the city again for about an hour just cruisin with a mate.

I watched a few instructional vids last night so today I tried a few things, I had probably 6 or 7 goes at a nose manual and the first few times I came off but a couple of times at the end I could hold it for like a fraction of a second haha... next time out I'll work on it more, but my mate was on foot so I was just cruising along

I worked on my pushing cause I got a really sore foot pushing into the headwind, I decided I'm not being smooth enough and I'm slapping the ground a lot. One of the vids I watched last night suggested practicing balancing on my front foot and holding the other foot still as if I'm about to push... I did that a bit and it helped heaps.

Oh and I managed to learn footbraking too, that was actually surprisingly easy.. maybe cause I practiced holding my foot out to the side earlier on? The first two times I nearly ate it when I touched the ground but after that it felt easy... still not real graceful or anything lol but I can do it without having to think too much which is comforting, I feel ok doing it coming up to crossings and stuff.

Sorry for the long post lol I'm just so stoked about the weekend, but I gotta go back to work tomorrow

Two of my buds and I smoked a bowl and went carving on my Dervsh. One guy drives, one guy spectates, one guy carves. Rotated for about an hour and two local little mellow hills, carved some siht up yo.
You turn any tricks on that wheelie board?
