Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Yesterday it was drizzling on and off throughout the day so I decided to get my gloves and go out and practice sliding. I'm such a wimp though, the closest I ever got to doing it was crouching down on my board and putting my hand down, I never actually tried to break my wheels. I was freakin' scared to death. Hopefully I'll get the courage to attempt it again (my first attempt at sliding ended up with me scraping half my elbow off) when I get some pads. I did get a few simple standups, though, and had my back wheels break out dozens of times, which was pretty fun.
Once, I was just cruising down the street and all of a sudden my board goes perpendicular to the direction I was riding. No idea how it happened, there weren't any puddles that I could see and I wasn't turning or anything. I made it out alive, though, I wasn't going too fast so I just ran it off. I got home, dried everything off (too lazy to use mineral spirits or whatever crud you're supposed to after a rain sesh) and sat down at the computer. It was fun.

So I was on the way to the mail service/office to pick up my Roggs Wannabe and I just rolled over a spot with wet leeves,
I fell. I hurt my knees but when I came to the mail office I looked at my iPhone. It was black!! Like in black screen. I'm lucky I have insurance

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Rode around streets on campus for a bit, then worked until about 7:15pm. After that my buddy and I went to the skate park to skate for a couple hours but they didn't have any lights on yet again (we are going to complain now, third week in a row). We decided not to skate it in the dark this time and skated the roads around the city park, parking lots, etc instead. We ended up having a blast and found this small hairpin turn down a little hill near the city pool. It's pretty sweet - nice and easy, but sharp. Is about 15-20 mph or so - which was plenty fun on the Spliff. The roads are nicely angled as well and you can cruise for a while just carving back and forth. It's a great spot. I had a raccoon run out in the road in front of me once tonight, LOL. We called it quits shortly after 9pm because we were getting tired of skating all over the city park and pushing back up the little hills. We had fun, as always.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
it was poo.
i think my pushing foot is stress fractured.
from the metatarsals all the way down to the toes. as soon as i bend my toes, the pain is nuts.
i didnt twist it/get it crushed/have any serious trauma happen to my right foot. it just sort of hurt one day about a week ago. i ignored it, kept skating to class on it (what? did you expect me to wake up 15 minutes earlier so i could "walk" to class? ).
and now, i think i'm paying the price.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Wednesdays are turning into a regular Mission Bay skate run. I've been by riding myself a few weeks. Last week I had three other fishies join me. Yesterday we had a group of eight skaters. If anyone in the San Diego area is interested in join us we start at 4pm on Wednesdays at the Visitor's Center off East Mission Bay Dr. It's a fun run, not a downhill speed course. There are no big hills, but it's not flat either. Plus, sunsets at the bay are beautiful. We're skating about five miles. There's lots of pedestrian slalom, strollers, bikers and rollerbladers to keep things interesting. Skaters of all levels are welcome. PM me for more details.

Shortboarders are gay, no ###### respect. Came by me on their car and threw a bottle at me and flipped me off.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
I had a good day skating. Skated around in various parking lots in Mt. Sterling for a while this morning and afternoon. Later this evening I went to our skate club's meeting and skated there for the rest of the day. Skatewave was there discussing skate park plans and ideas, etc. and had some item tossing going on (which was cool). Everyone had a lot of fun except for the few who fell skitching... oo; yeah.. that was dumb, and I was inside when it happened otherwise I would have stopped them. They just had a couple scrapes, so it was a relatively light way to learn their lesson.

i feel ya, last night, past a group of guys, one of them decided to yell out, "ride a shortboard, Faggot"
i just kinda looked over my shoulder, chuckled to myself a little bit, kept cruising, and enjoyed myself and my board that much more
whole time i was thinking, just a different discipline dude, just a different discipline. made my day so mellow. mellow cross steps, mellow carves. very chill

I stood on my Spliff in the living room until I got finished adjusting things then looked at the weather report and almost cried.

Brrr... yeah.. we skated tonight.. it was kinda cold. Lots of running noses and ear aches. Well worth it though. We enjoyed our (likely) only good day of skating this week before all the wet. We took a lot of photos / video of us messing around at the elementary school and church parking lots. Nice weather today other than the cold and clouds. I re-bruised my left hand and twisted my wrist yet again tumbling down off the nose of my pin-tail once tonight. It didn't end my evening though and I kept skating until we had to leave to come home for dinner.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Cruised home from work tonight, mostly uphill but it is just as quick as taking public transit plus I'm burnin calories, getting to know my board and saving money from tokens. Oh and it is actually fun. Gonna go out in a bit to skate around town. Weather is looking good for commutin this week, just a bit cold around 52F. Rain Thursday.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Had a sick sesh today, we found a good road against the mountain side and raced it for two hours. the run in itself was about 45 seconds, but it takes another 10 mins per time to walk back up. all in all a good day
