Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Went out for my first real session of the year. All the road cleaning crews went around today so the roads were all nice and clear so I just had to go out for a skate
Hit a few of my fav spots on my campus, nothing big just some fun corners and a good slide hill....just getting back into the feeling of riding a board at speed was great, I'd been getting sick of this mini-riding around my house
Got a chance to finally break in my new S9 RF's. I grabbed a set of the 74mm 78a's at a surf shop in myrtle beach over the hoildays. They were 25 bucks so I had to get some. Being my first experience with any S9 RFs I was excited to see how they rode, and let me say...I had a blast on them tonight! They are on my hellcat and after a few runs of being super grippy they broke in nicely and were drifting and sliding soo smoothly around corners, and at low speeds too
Lets just say I'm super stoked again to be out skating. My friend is bringing me some of the new Gravity Hi-Grade wheels back from his trip to SF and skates on haight so it looks like the stoke is just never going to end.....gonna kill these wheels and move onto the next victims

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
it's been raining which sucks so I had no choice but to skate in our garage. ended up practicing them ollies and kickflips on this popsicle board (which is overly frustrating to accomplish) come to think of it the roads outside are dry now and ima skate. yes!

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Went to park across my house yesterday after work and there was nobody there so I finally learned to Coleman slide (or so I think) in those sweet hills!
Man! now I ride so much more confident knowing I can stop!

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Awesome! Went skating with my best friend after we got finished with the show at the television station. Skated around the city park at some of our favourite spots. It managed to dry up enough to skate but only leave a few puddles around. I took my be40 for the first cruise tonight. Amazing board, I'm in love with it. Just the right size, and even with the 58mm Slide-As on it, it still feels smooth to push around and very comfy to turn on my loose trucks.
I geared up in full pads, gloves, and helmet and started trying Coleman slides at the peek of my pushing speed on the flat to start out. Failed to break loose a couple times at first but then got the hang of whipping around and breaking traction. Mostly spun around in circles and 180s until I came to a stop each time. Not able to really control it yet, lol, but god its fun! Fell a bunch, lol. Highsided once too and got ejected. With the gear though I got no injuries at all, just lots of scuffs on my pads - hoorah safety gear! So stoked I'm able to break my board loose and enjoy a nice slide now! Now I just gotta learn how to control them and suck it back in under me rather than just doing a shut-down slide. I love my be40!!
We called it a night once the wind picked up to pretty heavy gusts and kept changing direction on us. We had a really funny race though: flat ground + high wind + human sail = hilarious and slow. I lost, lol, I'm a lot heavy than my friend. Wonderful night.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
I just priced it out... I can buy a 1 day lift ticket for the same price as a set of wheels or trucks, and then there's equipment rental and gas to drive up the mountain... think I'll stick to pavement for now. At least its dry today.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Went to Winchester, KY today. Skated around town near the bypass around parking lots and side streets for about an hour on my Gravity Spoon Nose. Gave some more skating lessons to my friend that was with me for a while and had a good time. Skated behind a Tractor Supply store for a while in their loading area - and they were cool with it! Was sweet. It started pouring snow (complete white out) about 15 minutes after we stopped for a break because we were freezing (underdressed for the cold). and we called it a day. The snow slacked off to just flurries constantly now, but none of it has stuck so we will be able to skate again either later today or tomorrow for sure.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
I learned to drift toeside. It's funny, I could do 180 slides, colemans, shutdowns, and still not be able to drift toeside until now.
I'm LOVING these blast waves on my dervish. The drift is so smooth you almost don't notice it.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
rode my LBL komodo the 2.5 miles into town yesterday. the first ride in a week. started off running fast at my board, i jumped on and i was fast enough to powerslide so i tried one hastily, and ate it all over the road. i thought it was hilarious. but i rode all day. and now im so sore i couldnt ride fast if i wanted to. but i'll probably ride later anyway. and to answer vwitme's question its all flat around me, it sucks sometimes but if you stretch, its easy to pump long distances.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Mine was lame today. Grabbed my be40, slide gloves, helmet and got all padded up to go work on learning to slide some more and got to our spot (via car, I didn't drive) with my little brother with me too and got shut down by the Po-Po before even setting foot on our boards. After we got ran out of that spot we went to the county park (which sucks and is madly run down, street is unskateable - mostly gravel and DEEEEP potholes where there is still some pavement left) to skate a basketball court that is as well pretty run down and full of cracks, potholes, and rocks and sticks. There was only enough space to get a small amount of speed and slide for about 6 feet to a stop. Any longer and it would involve smacking into the fence. Did that half a dozen times and got sick of the low speed and all around suckiness of the location and just pushed around for a few minutes before finally throwing in the towel for the evening. We were both pretty bummed about it but oh well. Tomorrow we get to skate around at the airport for a few minutes so I have that to look forward to. I should have just geared up today and went hill bombing instead - if only I had known the Po Po would have been at that first spot.
