Playing watch dog in front of a school I was near until after school tutoring was over I think. They wait around and watch kids board buses sometimes.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
This is for yesterday (I got back and went straight to sleep last night). Had put my smaller soft wheels on my BE40 to ride around in a parking garage the night before (was sleepy when I did it) and failed to remember to put a little extra riser on the deck. Didn't catch it until I went to carve at the first spot we when to and got massive wheel bite (big chewed out area on the deck, lol) and got flung and bailed pretty hard on my left wrist. Looks like I wont be practicing colemans this week. Can't put any weight on my wrist. I do this a lot though, it goes away in a week or two, no biggie. The first spot was awesome though! Went to me friends new place at a new trailer park (laugh all you want) that is set up more like suburbs with FRESH BLACKTOP through the whole thing! Smoothest roads I've ever skated, and nice and wide, and a mild hill the whole way through the place that goes for a long time and ends in cul de sac. Didn't get to full on carve it due to the wheel bite, but my brother did. I just kinda weaved my way down it over and over again for a while until we had to leave. Weather was niiice at the moment, high 50s.
Tried to find some riser pads at the skateshop so I could cure the wheel bite issue before the garage but everyone I checked was sold out. Go figure. When we got to the garage later that evening it was starting to snow and ended up a full-on snow storm with high wind blowing rain, sleet, and eventually snow into the garage that made everything wet and miserable. Skated a careful lap or two around the place and got sick of the high wind blowing in and called it quits since I couldn't do much on my board today anyway without getting thrown from it. Oh well.
Covered in snow outside now. Maybe it will clear up in a few days.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
I had to work today and it was snowing, but yesterdays ride was the best of the year so far. me and my friend drove down to providence RI were one of my friends goes to school, we rode down town providence for five hours in the city parks and roads and parking lots and around the campuses of RISD and Brown then just in the city, we found a down hill bike path with three switch backs over the course of forty feet it was great, i was sliding all four wheels no prob, i also got to practice all sorts of little dancing moves, i'm improving slowly but surely, have any of you guys ever been to providence? do you know the bus tunnel? oh god it looks so good/scary we are going to hit it some day with reflective vests, (for those of you who dont know about it) its a two lane down hill tunnel that only buses are allowed in, it goes down for about a mile and its one of the most terrifying this i have ever seen.

Moral of that story: The coffin carve almost landed me in a coffin, how I love it so!
Keep away from city workers riding trucks in your skating spot, you just may lose your head!!
Nope the Moral here is:
Dont block out one of your five senses when skating, cycling, skydiving whatever !.
You wouldn't skate with your eyes closed and believe it or not you have more 360 awareness with your ears than your eyes.
Ride safe now.

It's wet here in santa clara. Which means I use my shortboard, since there's nothing left that can be done to beat it up more.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
My little brother got his Hyper Carve today! He loosened it up good for himself and I finished sticking some 1/2" risers on my BE40 and some soft Satori wheels and we set out for some carving goodness!
Skated the long, easy sloping road near my house for about 45 minutes to an hour (it was cooooold) just carving down the road then pushing back to the top. Was awesome (the BE40), and I had it so loose I had to really stay on guard while switching directions. Felt amazing set up like that.
My little brother just wanted to cruise straight at first but I got him to try some carving with it after a while. He still has to get used to it and the harder leaning of carving - much different than his short board for sure. He really loves it though and was enjoying the easier hippie jumps and body varials. Says he wants to learn dancing now so it should be a great board for him to learn that on too.
Great fun today, so happy my little bro finally has a longboard too!

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
I was skating at the mall parking lot with my friend jesse, did some fast runs down the parking lot like 30 times. Practiced cross stepping and pumping switch. Security came to talk to us and said, Do you know that skating here is against the rules? Yes. Well, I just saw you going up and down the lot a couple times, we've had three people report you already. Please go get your friend and leave, you can skate out of here if you want. I thought he was pretty nice compared to the other security here. Other mall security people are like, YOU TWO, GET OUT OF HERE, NOW!! Or If I see you skating again you're out of here.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
just came back from riding around my block when a neighbor comes out of his house and asks me if I could refrain sliding in front of his house because his 15 month old baby is asleep.
I didn't know the sound of wheels sliding was so loud. it was either my wheels or my pucks scraping that was loud.

Alot of people are like that. They get upset if there's any noise cuz of their baby, but in reality the baby would sleep through it regardless. He said the baby was asleep, so you obviously didn't wake it up with your sliding .....but ya, don't go pissing off your neighbors

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
I was sick yesterday and still am today and my balance is very, very bad at the moment with my sinuses and ears messed up. Anyway, went skating with my friend last night in the city park for about 3 hours. Took my BE40 and my street board. Only rode my street board for a few minutes and didn't feel like trying anything on it since I was balancing like crap. Rode the BE40 the rest of the time just cruising on it. I couldn't even manual much last night and I was even having trouble carving with my hands on the ground (even with the slide gloves) - just kept toppling over. Was disheartening. I hate being sick. I really wanted to enjoy skating more last night but dizziness, sore throat and upset stomach kinda ruined it. Had fun visiting my friend, regardless. Met a friendly cop last night too who didn't mind us being there and talked to us for a while chit chatting. Threw in a quick complaint about the skate park lights not being on all winter (heh heh).

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Its been snowed here a couple days ago, and when it snowed they put down gravel all over the mountain i live on. So the roads arent rideable really even though the snow is all gone off the roads. The roads had just started to get gravel free from when it snowed it early january.......
