Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
AWESOME DAY. Today was one of the most satisfying days of skating I have ever had, as simple as it all was.
Started my day off by waking up early and gearing up, grabbing my Evo, and bombing some small hills on my ridge at sunrise by myself - heck yeah! Was beautiful and about 58 degrees at that time. Headed back home after a while because I needed to get ready to go.
We went to the lake for a pic nic today and took our boards. I had intention to bomb some new hills there today at some places I scoped out on Friday morning but we ended up going to a slightly different spot so that will have to wait for later (I wasn't driving). I tried this spot we did go to out on my Spliff for a few minutes Friday too and it was awesome then but it was amazing today riding my Eclipse! I stuck the Bennet blue 71mm 'gators back on it to ride and had the lime big zigs on my Evo (which I ended up not riding at all today). The Eclipse felt SOOO good today. Had it set up with some nice loose trucks, ironically on stock RII bushings! Pumping was soo easy for me today I just pumped, carved, and pushed all over the area below the dam today along the parking lots, roads, sidewalks, etc. Was the first time I was able to pump UP an inclined parking lot. The security and park officials were all friendly and nice to us - it was a great time. Found our favourite road for carving today and spent a long time going down it, then pushing and walking back to the top of the road around the bend to come down the hill over and over again to propel us down the road.
Cruised around there for a couple hours until we had to leave to go stop by Lowes and get groceries. Was a great day. I had so much fun, and so did my brother! Took some shots of him with my D40 (posted them in the action shots thread). I have a feeling I'll be spending a lot of time at that spot this summer.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Only skated for about 20 minutes today. Pushed around on my B40 with my old street wheels on it in the small driveway at my other grandparent's place trying some manuals and stuff. Pretty boring spot and not my style of riding at all. Look forward to my wrist feeling better so I can put weight on it again so I can put the slide wheels back on the board and get back to learning how to slide. It was really windy today (storms moving in) so that kinda sucked too anyway. Had a great time visiting my cousins though and it was a good day. Now I have a ton of homework to finish....

Today and yesterday were the best skating days of the year so far. My girlfriend and I went out. She basically stole my board and skated most of the time... actually, i didn't skate much at all. I just had a lot of fun knowing that she was and that she wants a board.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
well me and my 4 best friends decided to go and do one of the biggest hills in my area, which is known as booyah. I have been longboarding for about 8 months and i have done most of the big hills in my neighborhood and we are like lets just do it. So we take the most downhilly route there so we can get used to speed. And as we get there we realize how big it is! It is freakin huge! We walk up to the top and my first friend lukas just straigh bombs it! It was the most badass thing I have ever seen! Then my second friend kean foot brakes a little and bombs it! Then I foot brake a little and bomb it. Now my last friend will isnt very confident and so he tightens his trucks up a bunch. And he foot brakes about half of it and then bombs it. We all make it down and then go back up. And this time we all just bomb it! Overall it was a fantastic time! I love hanging out with them! We dicided to call ourselves team purple also which is pretty sick.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Beautiful day- Just got back from riding my Superglider(1st issue) that I set up with Crails. I've changed the setup of this board countless times, and the most unlikely hookup is my favorite yet. I put some newly aquired Crails with 92 Venoms on it with 76mm green rc kryps. This thing is a beast. Carvey and the most stable its ever been. If you've got some crails lying around, try this setup. Good stuff.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
found a new spot today. All off road footpaths and a big wide area of fresh smooth grippy tarmac. Not that steep but really good for some carving and cross stepping. There is also a beach volleyball and basketball court there.
Skated it for about an hour today, and don't think I took the same route twice.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
My ride today was kinda cool,I met some guys at a local Longboarding park,I was supposed to meet a guy and some friends of his, then I found other guys that knew him and talked to then, there were about 4 guys, one was Cristo,a 33 year old guy that's longboarding for 18 years, one that was with wife and 5 month daughter that cries when she isn't on a board, they told me that she goes down a little path in ther house sitting on the board by herself and dislikes when the little ride ends,I imagine this girl in 10 year how good she will be at Longboarding..She's starting only 15 years earlier then me. :P
And the guys were pretty cool, they found someone to sell me a good suit in a good state for a bargain!

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Another awesome day for me (us) today. Went skating at our old favourite spot at an elementary school which has some good variety of curbs, sidewalks, parking lots, a road, and some gentle rides. One of the places I learned how to ride a skateboard at, its great for that and for a nice easy, relaxed session.
Was me, my little brother, and his friend who is the same age or so named Jared that JUST started skating. He has my brother's old Mongoose board now since some other kid broke his skateboard and he is waiting on a newer one. We are trying to help him out best we can with learning how to skate - the simple stuff like pushing around, turning, stopping, etc. My brother is trying to help him ollie. It was fun skating with him today but he's a pretty quiet kid.
Did I mention the weather? 79 degrees, sunny, slight breeze... beautiful! Got to ride around in jeans and a t-shirt. To our luck as well, the entire school grounds had been cleaned up from the winter mess so very few sticks, rocks, and tree nuts all over the place - super clean and smooth! Just cruised around pumping, carving, and practicing some hang tens, fives, ledge hops, and some fun around the grounds on my Eclipse. Having so much fun on my Eclipse lately. It was my first longboard and its still a blast to ride and just seems to get better and better - always feels great to get back on it after riding my other boards for a while. Today was no exception. What a great time this afternoon!

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Skated all evening and part of last night in Morehead. Hung out with my friend and ate some McDonalds then headed over to the skate park and to our luck the baseball field lights were on so we could still see even though the park lights were off. Skated there for hours. The same cop from the other night showed up and said hello and talked for a minute, he's cool. We skated the park until the baseball field lights got turned off later that night. Was riding my Eclipse at our little park last night. I swapped the bearings out on a couple sets of my buddies wheels and set up a board for his little brother while I was there since I had my skate tool handy. Hopefully we can all skate together over spring break soon.
After the lights got killed I got my Evo out for my friend and we skated out to the rest of the city park to ride around and have a fun little session around a slow corner that is pretty fun. He grabbed stinkbug the first time and lost it when it came up on two wheels so I showed him the better way to grab the board if you need to and after a couple more tries he had it down. We didn't get kicked out of our spot tonight at all - the workers there just watched us while they were working on stuff inside and let us skate which was nice. Later that night though when we were walking back up the road to go around the corner again a baby skunk ran out of the woods and right next to us, LMAO. Was an "oh ****" moment and we just speedily walked away. That session was over, haha. That's two times a skunk has ran us off from there. The first time was an adult though, so now there are many more skunks there. Racoons have ran in front of us across the road there before too. I would love to see the panic and horror of a family of skunks running onto the baseball field during a game... heh heh..
Was a great time.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
It's finally decent enough outside to start skating to and from work again; this is the first week I've felt like doing it since I got car doored off my board in early January (the guy didn't do it on purpose, but it still sucked diving headfirst into an aluminum door). I had a real nice ride in around lunchtime and can't wait for my ride home.
The change in weather has gotten me excited to go cruising around a state park or on some bike paths once it gets just a little warmer, and I'm planning on getting some new wheels soon since my old ones are filled with shards of glass and metal and have a few chunks taken out of them from getting hung up on curbs.
Viva la Springtime!
