Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
tooo phuking hot....actually it was a good day, pigmoder, Slidewalksamurai, chaoselephant, livehard, me and 1-2 other guys had a great session in the stone garden. Mostly perfecting lines and carving none of us had the energy to bomb real fast but it was fun. I got to see not one but 2 Comet FSM's, nice looking in person though wheelbite city on both the setups I saw....I think I'd top or flush mount Indy 215's on it instead of dropping through

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Hiked up to a nice spot were houses are supposed to be built but they never got to it. The road is nice and i only saw 2 cars the whole hour i was there. The hike sucked though cause its really steep gravely, hot, and i almost fell. Once i got there it was nice though, the road is like a big elliptical O that is fairly steep, and has only one corner at the start. Pavement damage and rocks almost chucked me a couple times but it was nice because you go down the hill and then it goes up, so it kills speed at the end and all i have to do is walk up the hill a bit and i can go down again. Wash, Rinse, Repeat.
Felt like the king of killing wobbles today, because i got so many but only got chucked once at the very end of my hour up there. Oh and worked on a basic slide while i was up there, but my butt kept dragging on the ground at the end Anyone know why that would happen?

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Scoped out some hills for a slide session in a couple weeks, think I've got the perfect one picked out. It's right up the street from where I'm moving and seems like a pretty sick hill - definitely too steep and narrow for me to try bombing at my skill level, but I'd feel pretty comfortable sliding it.
Got home and worked through my slide repertoire. I'd been having trouble with 1h 180s the past week, I'd pull them off but had to really wrench my ankle to get myself back onto the board at the end. I think I've got it down now, though; I wasn't turning into it enough before trying to slide and was basically doing a standup 180 in a crouch with one hand briefly down. Smooth as butter now, though!

Depends what slide you were doing, I guess. If it's something really basic like a 2h 180, you might be pushing your board too far away and winding up with not enough leverage to keep your body off the ground?

I sometimes have the same problem, try pretty much touching your back knee to your front leg (so it's more like laying down than crouching) and don't lean to far from the board, stay with it and guide it.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
skated around with my buddy, hit up some garages on campus. then went to get a slurpee (that is the best thing when skating). while we were enjoying our slurpees three like 30somthing year old dudes walk out and throw their cigs right next to us and get ash all over our shoes and what not. really freaking rude. so my buddy asks why the had to do that and they started this big thing and made a huge scene talking ####. so we just left and they drove by and told us that they were "gonna cut your face." wtf is that all about. ??

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
It was so much fun! I am currently borrowing a deck (don't know make) and some Randal 180 trucks from a friend of mine (NorCalDH), and it was mindblowing. Before today, I had never ridden anything other than Sector 9 boards, aside from wheels, so I had a great time.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Went for my first ever longboard ride tonight from 2:00-3:00am! My board came today but it had rained, so I had to wait. Turning at speed is gonna take some getting used to, I have 10 years snowboarding experience to fight against. Overall, I'm stoked. I wish the roads were more consistent. You go one street over and it goes from super smooth to giant chunks of road missing.
FYI my setup is
44 Fibreflex Pintail
S8 Original trucks
70mm Lime Zigzags.
