Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Was pretty cool today, beautiful out, and I skated to church this morning.
After when I picked up my skateboard, one of the older dudes came up and was "man this looks fun, can I try?"
So I said sure etc, making sure he wasn't going to hurt himself. He pushed around the parking lot a bit, and was having fun.
Stepped off and then he proceeded to tell me how he used to live down near Venice beach, and used to skate all the time down there in the bowls/pools in the late 70's. He was a super cool man. I think I met a new friend =]
The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
today was great!
a week long heatwave ended and made for a much more comfortable session. i also found this new hill that was nice and steep with several early grab spots which are always fun. the street also had lots a tar lines/spots to avoid making for an interesting run. definitely not something you want to slide over. its much more grippy. :P

Awesome. I've been in Lonaconing, Maryland this week and the whole area is an expanse of hills. I took my board up near Dan's Rock and did some DH. It's such a huge change from being in Michigan, which is almost completely flat. Too bad I'm leaving tommorow.
"What's all this, then?"

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
First, i cruised to the corner store to wait for some people to show so we could go ride. They never showed probably, because it wasnt very clear when we were meeting and they had already met yesterday. So, that night i went out and rode by myself. Did a straight speedy run and then i did this winding road a couple times. Worked on my sliding, got a few ok slides down. Grabbed stinkbug one time, and my board ended up getting chipped on the rails, and having dents on the sides. Not happy about that. Not sure what im doing wrong when sliding... But do i need to seal the dents in the side of my board, if so how?

YES. That was a great hill to try out on this beautiful day! We need to go back there. With some more experience on that road, high speed early grlrlrlrabs will be swizzeet. But all that tar...

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
frickin awesome
Had to go to work till noon but it made for a nice ride on the Harley.
Hit the home improvement joint for wood and hardware.
Spent the afternoon hamhocking together a 20 board rolling rack.
Put everything away and cleaned up then spent 2 hours rotating between my BC Flounder and the EW Charger. What a frickin good day!

Today was the day i finally broke in my bearings (for my haleiwa) and was starting to finally enjoy my ride. I cruised calmly around my neighborhood then started going down a hill that was nice and mellow. Damn, I started to go fast. I was hauling some serious ass. It was frikking sweet.

Yeah, homie you gotta break in da burrins! But srsly bearings roll a lot smoother after riding them for a while. After breaking them in, you'll notice they freespin for like 10 times as long as they did when you first got em.

they definitely do, my bearings got MUCH better in my freelines during the first couple months, I think part of it has to do with excess lube getting spun out of the bearing, freeing it up, as well as the bearing getting seated on the wheel/axle.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Worked on pushing with my other foot alot today (im regular and push with my right foot.) So now i can push pretty well with both feet. You guys know when your about to do a coleman, you roll your back leg so its flat on the board, kinda? Well i rode my longboard like that today, and it was something i havent go before and it was alot of fun. Got some good longboarding in on Canada Day.
