I was surfing today and when I started losing speed and began to stall out over the shoulder, I did the Coleman drop knee positon and keep paddling with my hands, haha.

Been riding my brand new Gnome mini (props to Legendary for making such an awesome board). I'm still getting used to it but the awesome turning has saved my ass once already, when I had to weave around some pedestrians in a parking lot I cut through while going down this one descending street. My UA wouldn't have been able to make the turn, but it was no problem on the Gnome.

I've also been pumping everywhere today, the new board makes it way easier.

attempted to switch foot push backwards and am almost pulling it off switch lead(in reverse) too. left push is still a tad bit sketchy but the carpet training is paying off.

Last night was our town's fireworks show, and a small hill with 15mph speeds (just enough to make the sweat feel good) was closed off. I pushed as hard as I could, and half way down the fireworks started, it was great to ride through that.

Fun. It's Calgary Stampede time here and we have free BBQ breakfasts going up all over the city and I took my board to one with the family and danced around the parking lot and had myself a delicious burger.

Later, my friend and I assembled my new mini that I cut out of an old skateboard. 19"x7.5". Set it up with some cheap walmart trucks, replaced the kingpin to accomodate better bushings, and some 70mm S9 wheels I had lying around. So much fun. I built it to be a back-pack cruiser I could stash away since my summer school doesn't allow skateboards.

Was riding in my culd e sac, just doing alot of nothing on my LY wedge flex. I rode it with the back end forwards and i tried to do a nose manual. Had it for like 2 seconds and then i tried it again only to fall and damage and tail and grip on the nose of my board(kinda pissed that i was such an idiot because i love the way that board looks, and i hate damaging my boards).

So after cleaning some newly acquired cuts out i went on my LY mummy and rode around. It was a nice way to end the day becuase the sun was just going down and it smelled very strongly of nice night air.

But while i was riding my dropspeed last time i damaged the nose and was wondering if this is a good idea for a bumper: a section of bicycle tire glued onto the nose with either rubber cement or something else, and then i was thinking of putting a layer of foam inbetween. Does that sound like it would work? And how easy does rubber cement come off wood?

so my girlfriend likes to run at night and i go with her to keep an eye on her and make sure no creepers get at her. im not into running so i just skate. we went for like 2 miles and im cross stepping and walking up n down my board having a good time. we are 50ft from our front door and i bend down to try and early grab and before i can think i hear that dreaded sound of a rock stopping my board. BOOM! next thing i know im picking myself up with the taste of asphalt in my mouth and cuts on my forehead and nose...so lame!

now i have a cut up and sore face, a big cut on my knee and wrist and worst of all my pride is hurting! it was a fun skate until the last bit. o and i hate rocks more than ever now!!!

Was skating a parking lot at about 11:30 when a car full of high school kids whipped a pair of water bottles at me as they drove past. One went right through my legs, bouncing off of my board. Needless to say I chased them down 'cause they had no idea how to get out of the parking lot, got their license plate number, and called the cops to file a report. My favorite part is the exchange that went down right before they started hurling stuff:
    "Nice skateboard. You're a homo!"
Myself: "Thanks, and who I fuck is none of your business."

yesterday was one weird half-ass sesh. Started off in newark. I've been training to go fast as possible through very narrow flat ped paths. (thompson park stye?). I did that for a while and decided to head to brooklyn for a bit. Skated to Nwk Penn. Path over to WTC. Skated to brooklyn bridge. Subway to sister neck of the woods (Clinton washington area). Skate for a while then dropped by the sisters for food. Skated BACK to world trade center, from there took the C to Port Authority. While waiting (2 hours!!!) for my bus to my parents i got to explain longboarding to bout 10 people. All very intrigued about the kid with "weird plastic gloves" and the "ridiculously long skateboard). after the hour and half bus to parents town i had to skate a mile (at 2am with NO streetlights. friggen russian roulette on bad pavement).

all in all it was a good skate, except for the fact i had to board to work this morning at 5:30 with my laptop coffee and bagel.

Thursday evening....nearly 3 hours of hard cone sessioning, till haven't got my front truck tuned right, well unless I push like a madman but even then it's a little dive prone, need a softer bushing that I can get a little tighter. Friday morning 2 hours of freestyle, toeside double rail flips, finally learned heelside railstands, some heelside railflips and I even nailed few caspers,

Last night I went downhill for the first time! I set up my scimitar with red and blue khiro barrels and flipped the hangars. We went to a residential area near EVHS in san jose. It was a lot of fun, but I haven't fully relaxed yet

Today I started at like 12, or 11, or something at an old folks home, went like maybe 1/2 a mile in a direction, hit gravel, went back. Skated downtown from said old folks home, caught the very end of the parade. Waded through zillionz, and zillions of fat, slow, trail hogging tourists, went to beach, got hit on by man cleaning bathrooms. Got lunch. Skated around. Went to record store, went to old folks home, skated. Drove to Home Depot and skated down to Walmart, twice, and then once to Boarders, got in car. Went to Subway. Home. Some time in there I fell at a really busy intersection. More like tipped over. I was going too slow waiting for stupid people. Embarrassed a little. Old people told us that they were giving tickets for riding skateboards downtown. Laugh.

Oh. Our boards were in the back of the truck, and my sister didn't close the tailgate all the way and her board almost shot out in a 4 lane highway.

    That's it.
