Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Went down local hill behind buddy's house today. Tried out the usual pendulum slide. Wheels locked up and threw my ass off and into the air, watching my legs dangling in front of me as i flew through the air ass and head first going... FAST mph. Landed on assbone and rolled off of back on to head and flipped around doing a back flip and landing back on my feet. My dreds cushioned my brains and saved my life. Walked back up the hill and kept on keepin' on. Twas a choice day indeed.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
despite it being rediculously hot here in the Mojave Desert(las vegas) i decided to go ride this hill that my school bus took me up every morning. it was a few miles uphill, wasnt too bad. got to the top of the hill had some jack-in-a-crack crispy chicken strips, tried to take some resin hits, didnt get a head change , put my helmet and gloves on and started to ride down, wind pickep up, my speed picked up, but i think the side wind slowed me down. next time i will go faster!. i really want to get a working gps next time i hit a speed run....you know.. see how big my d!ck is hahah. on the way ho,e the wind picked up MORE speed.. had to push DOWNhill... that is one of THE most frustrating things ever . and i almost died coming home because the wind was now at my back and the wobs started to kick in when i had to slow down for the red light . turned onto the sidewalk whist still wobbling on one foot and ended up running it off. luckily my board didnt go flying into the street....
yep.... i want to go riding today but it is MAD windy and blazing hot outside.... and no one to suffer with me

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
After dinner I went on an hour long excursion down to my local park, which has a huge parking lot that is never more than about 1/3 full. Practiced pumping and carving for about 30 minutes, then headed home. On the way back I found a nice long and empty downhill lot with a cool little roll-in, but there were about 20 "thugs" chillin at a bench right at the end of the lot, so I figured I'd just go back another time when there isn't anyone there. I probably would've just skated it if I had someone with me, or if it wasn't almost dark, but the area around here is pretty sketch so I just played it safe.
About a block from my house I spotted a side street that had a nice, easy slope and fresh asphalt, so I cruised down, not realizing that the street was a culdesac. After a nice 10-15 mph cruise, my relaxation was spoiled by the fact that I had to skate uphill for about a half mile. Came home, drank a Corona, and listened to some RJD2. All in all, not a bad day.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Hooked up two 100' extension cords and blew all the gravel off in front of the house and the circle at the end. Wasn't there last night and it sucked tonight on my first run with slide A's. Then did the Corchia/slide A's for 45 min working up to my first slide. I did get my first taste of breaking traction tonight with little speedcheck type twitches as I came in hot around the corner. baby steps for an old fart. ha! What a huge diff. Next I rode the poolking with drifters. Felt like a cadillac or so I thought. Made a few full runs of the street on a Fullbag cruiser and it felt even better and I finished the night off with some carving madness on my Knuckleduster with hybrid 215's and big red 3DM's. Wow! So quiet, smooth and agile after rattling my fillings out on the corchia first. It was just plain fun. Oh, another plus is that I added a 1/4 riser on the Corchia tonight along with the 1/8th. I was able to loosen up the 169's and turn in half a street with no more wheel bite. yay!

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
most days i skate 2 miles to work and back. during the school year i skate 4 miles each way to school.
last time i was skating home from work (last monday) i was cruising through a random parking lot and bent down to spit when something went wrong. still trying to figure out how, but my board went one way, i just went to the ground. a little cherry on my elbow and a tiny bit more on my shoulder, nothing gnarly.
by the way, im new here. hows everyone doing? this is a great little site, im super hyped for having found it

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Being a new rider, I was obviously stoked on cruising around on my first board. Skated around the corner to work. Got off, skated to Sports Authority to check out getting a new helmet, then off to Wal-mart to grab some batteries. I guess I got a little ballsy, and went over to my local parking garage. Real smooth, and pretty steep(big mistake for having only ridden a longboard for a total of an hour in my life, haha), Got down the first of 6 levels, and started getting the wobbles, nerves got to me thinking "If I don't make this carve to get around the corner to the next level, I'm seriously screwed." So I tried speed checking my board, got more wobbles, and bailed. Eh, I'm hoping I get better. Being a new boarder sure can be discouraging when you see good riders doing crazy slides and bombing hills like butter. Anyway, skated home, watched a flick with my girlfriend. left at about midnight, cause the weather was beautiful. Cruised around, practiced carving, and pumping. Got a little baby slope on one of the busy streets. Probably hit 15mph, and it felt good, really did. Smooth board, cool breeze, and some baby speed. Rode on home, and am posting about it now.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
I've been meaning to focus on riding switch, so this morning I went to a park that has a 1/2 mile, flat, circular and nicely paved bike path. I was there before work from about 7 to 8, and the place was pretty deserted, so I didn't feel like such a fool (even though I know I looked like one). My new resolultion is to make it there three to five days a week and spend one hour pushing around the track -- only switch. So far, I can keep a pretty constant speed, but I feel a long ways away from being able to do the "power push" I can do in normal stance where I really get that pushing leg swinging momentum into the push.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
yey! switch. try cornering switch sometime. makes you feel all noobish again... sigh...
NEwho... I went for short slide session on the hill by my house. was layin down the urethane trails. It was pretty sweet. For not skating in four days my switch standups were super nice.
At the bottom of the hill I totally busted out a fatty standy in front of a mom. I felt cool.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
I crashed. I'm not quite sure how, but I did. I bailed on the way back from lunch with my little bro. I was just daydreaming, and BAM! I go flyin off the front of my board. It was pretty intense. But, I'm not too banged up. Got scraped up a little, a bruise on my elbow, etc. Other than that I just rode around for awhile, havin a good time.
I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Went out and bombed some hills today. When i was at the bottom of one, i gave the minivan behind me a wave and a thumbs up to say "thanks for waiting." I went into the on coming lane to let her pass, and then she went up beside me and rolled down her window, and then shouted "That was awesome!" I yelled thanks back, and she drove off. That pretty much made my day.
Then i went and did another hill and worked on some slides. I'm still having a problem getting a coleman down, cause im not going fast enough, and i dont think im rotating my shoulders to swing the board around enough.

Re: How was your daily longboarding ride/s?
Actually I had a pretty nice run last night. Pushed to a local Mc Donalds (about 5 km away from my place). After I had eaten, I found a couple of nice hills to bomb and some fresh new pavement to cross step on. And on the way back home I had a chance to show off some basic cross steps to some elderly ladies
