I just got my Gravity Hypercarve last week from Daddies.

It's got 180 Randal IIs on it and some Flashbacks on it.

I'm pretty new to the longboarding thing and wanted to upgrade from my S9.

    Well, my setup changed yesterday:

    Original Apex 37 deck
    Original S8 trucks
    Orangatang 75mm 80a wheels
    Random cheapo bearings
    No risers

Rides 4 1/2 inches off the ground with those wheels. Flexes like crazy, very springy. Slides way, way easier than my old deck, even though it's the same trucks & wheels. Definitely more of a flatland board, it has nowhere near the grip for hills. Fun!

damn dude, love the board, did you get rid of the custom 35?

We also learned the merits of garage door openers. After you wisk your bike into the garage.. you call the PD and report it stolen.. oddly enough we always found them the next day.

Sort of. I sold it to my brother, so I'll still get to "visit" it.

I'm really amazed at how much difference the deck change has made- same trucks, same wheels, same rider, but this one's a TOTALLY different ride. It carves tighter but slides out WAY easier. Mega fun if you like sliding- I found myself busting out standup slides the first day on it, and I never could do those before. But it's a trade-off for the super-traction the old one had. On a hill I used to be able to just carve all the way down and keep my speed where I wanted it, now I find myself speedcheck-sliding a bunch instead.

It's very flexy. It comes in three flex ratings; mine's the Middleweight and I'm using the shortest wheelbase. (deck is drilled for three different WB's) I'm 155-160 depending on clothes, and I can bottom it out with only a small jump- maybe six inches high. When I'm just standing, the slight camber flexes down into a slight rocker, but not too far. When I'm carving, I can feel the flex changing the truck angle and making my carve that much more agressive. It springs back well, too, I can feel it throwing me right back out of the carve and into the next one, very bouncy. End result: My flatland carves are now much snappier and more extreme, very cool!

I do feel like I'm probably at the top of the weight range for this flex, any heavier and I think I'd want to step up to the Heavyweight model. And I suspect you'd have to be pretty tiny to want the Featherweight. But those are just my impressions based on the way this deck feels; I haven't actually stood on the other two, so take that for what it's worth.

Loaded Pintail, oak, probably flex 1 or 2. Deadboltz trucks, assorted bushings, green Kryptos with God-knows-what-bearings. And lol this photo session led me to the discovery that this board is not far from death, but whatevas.

That crack near my left foot is the biggest one

    Yes.

I had every sticker I owned on this board, but a few have fallen off.

    This is my setup

Edwards pintail deck (45") with a medium concave (Edwards is a New Zealand brand)
70mm Streetline wheels. They're not the squared off wheels but they grip surprisingly well.

Its just my first board but it certainly suits the sort of riding I do and I'm loving it!

    I know, another stupid dervish.

    Loaded dervish flex 2
Randal R-II medium bones hardcore on bottom, randal yellow on top
    Pink bigzigs (77a)
Speedy Lunatic bearings w/ MHS spacers

It feels really nice, pumps well. It was a truly worthwhile purchase.

I changed some things around on mine and am loving it even more now:

    Bustin Spliff
71mm blue Bennet Alligators w/ Mini Logo bearings
    1/4" soft risers/shock pads
    Randal RII 180mm trucks
Venom carve bushings (conical) - yellow - 85a for top bushings
Randal clear red (the new bushings, conical) for the bottom bushings.

I really like these Venom bushings. I need a longer kingpin if I want another set in there though, so for now I am using the Randals and they feel pretty dang good.

ghost flywheels are the older generation ones with a different urethane. apparently a more durable krypto, with a lot slower, more progressive hookup...should make for a fun ride they're called "ghost" because they're a translucent grayish smoke color...they also feature a different hub, with 5 spokes instead of 6. should be able to search for a pic here on the fish.

    edit:
just got holeys on the mosquito, haven't tried it out yet, but not having any other bushings that'll fit in them, they're currently set up with the stock red holey bushings on the bottom and 81a abec barrels on top...have pink bigzigs on there now, but they've been traded off and shall be replaced as mentioned.

also decided to set the spicy mustard up with the newer black r-II's...dewedged the back 5*. back set up with a yellow tracker stim on bottom and 80a abec barrel on top. front: green stim bottom 80a abec barrel on top. gonna try and test this out as a downhill setup with o-tangs or orange zigs.

got indy's on the way for the fish, and i'll be all finished. still got a s9 bomb hills to cut down and setup, but that'll be a future project...
