Re: Roggs Dancer vs. Lengendary Platypus
im not much help, because ive never personally ridden either. But merely as a consumer, and long time dance, i would go with the roggs. Again that is just one mas opinion.

I love my roggs dancer the shape is perfect and it rides soo nice.

Re: Roggs Dancer vs. Lengendary Platypus
well i can break it down line this, the roggs has built in camber and concave thus giving it a responsive flex comparably to the typical saggy flat board type flex that the majority of other dancers are, second its lighter, and more nimble due to its slightly shorter wheelbase and the fact that a more aggressive concave allows you to push harder on the edge of the board and thus turn quicker, also has same size nose and tail so when riding the board backwards you arent thrown off by the difference of length of the nose and tail.
And a bunch of other features that other dancers dont have stock.
The fullsize and jr dancer were built from the ground up with dancing in mind, and refined over time and continually will be when we see where improvements can be made.
But heres the thing most dancers out there whether it be homebuilt or commercial are typically just big planks that offer nothing as far as performance goes, and only offer a big "flat" saggy board that just offers a big space to dance/ride on which they then label as a dancer, well heres a question why cant you have performace in a dancer as well, a board that was actually designed to fit the requirements of a dancer and add to it ?
Currently i personally believe there are only two board companys out there that offer actually designed dancers, instead of just a big plank, and that would be Roggs and Loaded
But yeah just take a look around see what you like whether it be roggs, lbl, legendary, arcane, galac, loaded, or the many other companys, and go from there, really so long as your riding and having fun that is all that matters.
The only competition in life is yourself, but be warned it loves to throw challenges in your face, just to make it a fun experience..

Re: Roggs Dancer vs. Lengendary Platypus
I wouldnt compare the two...Other than they are 'dancers'...I, obviously, prefer the Platypus...A friend of mine has the Roggs Dancer, and jr. Dancer...I prefer a longer, heavier deck, and my friend loves that his Roggs is lighter, has concave, and is quicker and more nimble when carving...
One or the other...Or both...I seriously doubt that youd be unhappy with either...So just draw names out of a hat...? Best out of 3 with rock, paper, scissors...?

Re: Roggs Dancer vs. Lengendary Platypus
I have ridden both, the roggs was lighter, had an actual concave, the wheel wells are super nice, and the overall finish was amazing. Roggs all the way

Yup to the man who is Roggs
and of course I claim the owner of Legendary as a friend so I wouldn't be the most unbiased out there myself. Of course I would be happy to call most if not all of the people here friends.
osulongboarder13, I hazard to say that the whole dancer scene has not fully developed yet. Loki was not first on the scene but he took off running with what had been found out and added design features that he and others believe are important and improve on what came before. Other people like a different design for their own reasons. Loaded had the help of a number of people including the two who have claimed dancing as their own, they are both very talented and know all about dancing. Yet many are not fond of the Loaded dancer for reasons other than the price. LBL has a dancer favored by many, and Galac recently came out with something very distinctive...rather surfboard like. Pimm at Legendary came out with his own design and I have not ridden any of these boards.
In fact almost no one has ridden more than one and they haven't been typing up many comparisons. I would love to see some real nice comparisons of these decks but it may be awhile. In the meantime you will have to use the heck out of the search feature and read between the line as well. There are many here that while trying to help post jaundiced opinions and others are very helpful. Try to figure out what features you want or need and rule out the ones that don't have them....

People sport 'dance' moves on their mini's...Its what you like to do on a particular board that matters...We all ride skateboards...! Just pick one that interests you and have fun...!

Re: Roggs Dancer vs. Lengendary Platypus
I wasn't a fan of the concave on my Rogg's dancers, especially for boardwalking.
Go ride - Wear a lid!

I wasn't a fan of the concave on Larry's boards when I first started with boardwalking tricks, never mind the more "extreme" concave on Roggs decks. I had always ridden flat, soggy, lifeless planks before, and it was what I was used to. Having spent enumerable hours on big decks with concave, I can say with great confidence that concave is superior in every way.
I would definitely recommend logging some more hours dancing on some concave, because when you're used to it after a couple sessions, your skill and steez will grow by leaps and bounds!
