It's hard to tell how those (that?) truck returns to center but it looks complicated. Never a good sign for mass appeal board.

Maybe this is not the same truck.

    no, not the same...

i took a good look at it...

its pretty clever... not that many parts...

it molds the cam onto the deck...(the two outer bearing rolls on that cam)

the caster slides up and down the steering bolt compressing the spring...(sort of like the Original truck)

Yeah, you're right. Same basic principle as the Timberwolf truck but more complicated. There is a lot of bearings and springs and cams to deal with.

It seems to be concerned about making the wheel return to center with the spring tensioned king pin forcing the bearings riding along the cam to move to the low spot and center the caster. The Timberwolf and most other caster truck designers understand that a caster will return to center and stay there to follow the line of travel.

I like the way the cam is hidden. I think the Timberwolf truck could better intergate their pivot bar into their caster housing.

Interesting. You keep stumbling onto products I invented. I hold the patent on this design as well but I licensed it to Street Heat who is the responsible for the manufacturing (unlike the TimberWolf). You'll probably find the Roller racer next. lol
You guys certainly have your ears to the ground and know your stuff.

Yea, thats the Roller Racer Sit Skate. I didn't invent that but it was the first product I ever worked on in the 70s. I invented the Blade Board (The one with the cam above) and the TimberWolf. However I licensed the patent to the Blade Board to Street Heat. I have not licensed the Timberwolf because I really like the art/sport of caster boarding and I want to continue to make it a product that will take the sport to the next level. btw there is a casterboard competition on August 22nd in Brownsville Tx. I hope it is the first of many more to come. You guys are amazing.

Yes, I worked for NDI (Nashville Diversified Inc) I was the production coordinator and also made small contributions on the metal stamping and welding processes. My brother actually owned the company till he sold the product to Whamo. Man that commercial is a blast from the past. One of the little girls in that vid is my niece who now has 5 children.

It is a small world. Gomer, I heard that you accidently ran into one of our TimberWolf riders at Metro Park in Nashville. You really freaked him out that we have had contact. We'll have to hook up next time I'm up that way.

The Roller Racer is a cool toy and is actually still being produced by Mason Corp in Nashville. He is a good friend and we used to play softball together. He never could get me to stop on third when he coached.

The Roller Racer works by centrifugal force and negative wieght on a caster. It is used alot in physical therapy for people who have diminished motor skills (a special version with like ape hanger handle bars) and many preschools and Roller Rinks still use them. They can be ridden by adults and they are alot of fun in small areas because of their tight turning radius and their effortless and seemingly magic propulsion. Believe it or not it used to be a ride at Opryland (the Theme Park). What else do you want to know?

Ride for the stoke, not for everyone else.

For the most part I agree. I suppose Rodney Mullen is the exception that proves the rule.
