I attempted this last night when I found my caster...I attached an old Waveboard wheel to it instead of the plastic wheel w/o bearings and gave it a go. This was extremely tippy and was quite impossible to ride without having the deck railbite and fling outward. I found that when I could finally get something going, I did a lot of swishing and not going anywhere.

Now, when I mounted the caster, I just did it flat on the board but I notice that the PumpRocker thing has it de-wedged maybe to make it less tippy? Not sure.

There was one other thing that looked interesting as well, called the RoadSurfer which is much like the PumpRocker but with a single wheel in back, so a waveboard with 1 swiveling caster, one stationary, and no tortional twisting.

    Road Surf

Maybe I'll try this next, and dewedge the front truck.

From our perspective, the issue is feel and fun; and this board's got it. How is snowboarding different from downhill skiing, or wakeboarding from waterskiing or any innovation from it's predecessor--tough deal to pin it down entirely. Advantages? That's not the only questions here. In our minds the issue was more about an option, a truer feel, a more liquid carve at slower, commuting speeds, a pivot and propulsion system 5-10x more efficient than previous systems; maybe these are advantages or just differences. But riding longboards and being involved in nearly every board related action sport we all recognized that this was a special innovation. Like most innovations, it will take some heat initially. We expect that. But, take it out and try it. If you don't like it, let me know and I'll buy it back from you.

And, if you choose the grocery cart option (which, we've done too) make sure you get a photo. That always ends up nice.

Thanks for the time and attention, no matter critical or cheerleading, we're happy to have it all.

I attempted this again but this time adding the given angle to the front castor. I was able to ride it this time, wasn't so dangerously tippy. The ride was rather slow however, much slower than a Ripstick/Waveboard. Perhaps a short wheelbase (on a mini) is probably too short to do anything with, all just quick turns and short distances?

I know this thread's been dead for a while, but here's a thought. What if you had the truck in the front, mounted on the kicktail of a normal skateboard deck, and the caster in the back also mounted on the kicktail. That way it would be more stable with the truck mounted at an angle and when you push (if you use your rear foot to push) most of your weight would be on the more stable truck and when you turn, the back would slide out a bit. And with the caster mounted at an angle, when you put pressure on the board it will naturally fall into the straight position like in a ripstik providing a bit more resistance to sliding out of control. Put some abec 7's in the caster wheel and the minimized surface contact would theoretically make it faster. I think i might try this out tomorrow haha
