A sport that anyone can do that has no thrill what so ever, can't really understand the appeal at all.
Kind of like jetski, push a button and away you go.
You stand five feet from your friends in the boat, in a static wake and listen to your favorite rap crap.
No challenge, no athleticism needed, no working with the elements of nature and harnessing them.
I shouldn't bash, I guess it's great for folks that don't get out much.
Can't just buy a good surf day, can't just buy a good kiteboard day, gotta pay in skin for great skating, gotta have lungs for a great mountainbiking outing, snowboarding takes a bit of learning, gotta have a head on your shoulders to paraglide, etc, etc.

have you ever been wakesurfing? because its a lot of fun. also it actually does take skill, board balance, etc. its really difficult to go without the rope on some boats. also if you get bored of that you try tricks etc. everyone can go for a hike (something that has a low "thrill" factor), but still have a lot of fun. sorry im not judging you but i just dont like the perspective that everything has to be "extreme" all the time.

Yes....it took five minutes to learn. Boat goes super slow, you stand there and carve a little off the wake which is totally constant, and by minute six or seven you are bored. Did it on a real surf board, did it on a directional kiteboard, then a wood twin that a local guy made. Like I said, I should not bash but I'm fifty years old and I'm not extreme but compared to kiteboarding, skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing, mountain biking, climbing, etc, etc it's just not worth the time spent. Water ski slalom has challenge and a good fun factor but wakesurfing and wakeboarding at basic levels that most people ride at is just stupid.....in my opinion.
