Re: Freeline skate parade
Pretty cool.
It's a quite a bit too bad that people in America are made to feel so ashamed about using simple sports equipment. So much of our self-perception is influenced by judgements about our "coolness".
Just think what innovation we could have if creativity wasn't so subject to the desire to conform to the norms of the counter-culture culture. It is so much worse now than the way American society was in the 1950's.

Just logged in to respond to your post. To my surprise, I had a PM from another new SF member in Nashville, TN. He indicated that somebody is using the screen name Gomer -- very popular there too -- on a Tennessee skate forum. Gomer there claims he is/was DaddyYo. An amazing coincidence.
The new SF member PMed me the following link:

That's right. It's me. DaddyYo is back with news, information and, most of all, opinion.

I completely agree with your first statement.
I disagree with your second.....self perception comes from how you are brought up, unless you decide to be weak and let popular opinion of coolness effect you in some way.
Counter-culture culture does not so much have norms and does not really influence the large majority of the population. Popular culture is what effects most people, that's why it's popular culture. Now about the 50's......... from what I've read the 50's kind of sucked. According to your previous statements of who you are, you are not old enough to have been around in the 50's to witness how great it was. I suggest you make the best of the world you live in today and quit bitching about how things are no good and everybody is an immoral idiot. Stop listening to Rush Limbaugh and other popular culture icons that make a huge living dwelling on the negative and enjoy your life, mister angry arguing man.

Even if he was 55 now, he still wouldn't have any significant experiences with or in 50s culture -- being 6 years old in 1960.

Let's assume, for as long as you want to, that you are a coincidental guy from Ohio.
I read the linked threads from Tennessee skate forum and Skate and Destroy or wherever and my perception, as most would perceive, is that Gomer/DaddyYo was attacking multiple others at one time while accusing them of stalking him. What is interesting is that this behavior is happening in his real life as well as on the internet, so at least he is consistent and not just an internet troll. When a group of people are all looking at the one "odd man out" it is often because that man is an odd man. The behavior of this other "Nashville" Gomer is funny, scary, crazy, paranoid, angry, aggressive and fearful. I feel sorry for him, sort of, but he just begs for trouble. If you don't see it that way, I'm thinking that your perception is similar to DaddyYo's perception, which is not one little bit surprising. What I can't figure out is why Gomer is willing to come out and say he is Daddy over there but our DaddyYo seems to be gone or hiding. I'm from Austin Texas, what town in Ohio did you say you were from?

Re: Freeline skate parade
It is interesting that DaddyYo has chosen to hide behind his Gomer screen name here at SF. But on his DaddyYo thread at the Tennessee skate forum, Gomer calls others cowards for hiding behind screen names.
