Yeah man, I'm a flaming homesexual. I like taking big **** up my arse. It makes my day. All you gotta do is ask nice sweetiekins!
You see, your insults are based on the fact that I would never be gay, and that, like you, I'm homophobic. Alas, no. In fact, it's your viewpoint that inhibits society from progressing. I'm not gay, but I have no problem with people that are, it's not my life to live.

By the way, I read you signature. Remind me why we shouldn't mess with you... I mean, so far, the only trouble we get into is getting some flagrant homophobic insults thrown back at us.
I mean, ****, if that's it, you should be on the front line in Iraq, because NO ONE can stand up to that!!! Holy hell! That's just tooooooo much!

Dude. The thing is, i just plain old don't get what you're saying.
Why would my screen name make a difference? My name is volvoguy, cuz i have a couple volvos, and i'm known to longboarders in vancouver as "The guy with the volvo" or "Volvoguy"
Are you seriously 52 and being this weird on the internet with a bunch of 20-something skateboarders?
And i don't get the friends of dorothy part.

I like the look of daddyyo`s board but the rest of that thread was amongst the worst crap I ever read on this forum.
As for the BMW............ I too would highly recomend a look at the Flexboardz instead.

Okay, so tell your friend that all the *** skateboarders say that the BMW is cool, but a bit pricey. But if he's a Beemer Guy, then extra expense is no stranger BUT, we suggest (obviously between mouthfuls of cack) that if he actually wanted to ride something that he would enjoy (other than the aforementioned cack) and be able to use in a multitude of places, than a good traditional longboard is a better choice for his funds. Then he can slather us with his rich baby batter and carve Heartagrams into our flesh while we scream in a happy rainbow emo song.

if they spring loaded or rebounded the bmw trucks somehow I probably would've like them! They took mean lines and were suprisingly stable too!

true enough. How much do your custom carve-decks cost? Sounds like it would be an interesting project, I'd imagine they have a pretty large margin for tweaking and modification judgin from the fact you've tricked your out pretty heavily to suit your tastes.
and just for future trivia:
I cant ollie, don't wanna ollie, and probably never will. But I still ride park and LOVE IT.

Ah, so it's just contradiction that you live for, now I get it.
if he is looking for strictly snowboard simulation, then I suppose your Carve or a Freebord or a Flowlab is a better choice. But what I said was that if he was looking for something that was usable in a variety of situations, then a good traditional longboard was my recommendation. I have owned both the Freebord and the Flow and neither of them was all that compliant on flat ground. Same with the BMW. The Carver I have not ridden, so you may now ridicule me and reveal my secret desire for man love.

Interesting concept and definately needed on the BMW board. But the different between any independant suspension board (BMW and Flexboardz) and pivot type trucks is that independant suspension boards feel like you are steering the board rather than riding it. Like you are turning the wheels rather than turning the board.
yah, I know what you mean there. But without that return, the board is just a noodle.

Its pretty difficult to truly emulate the snowboard feel, I've found even the carvestick does not do a bang on job. The freebord emulates only one aspect of the ride. Not to say either is better then the other, but unless you reduce the surface friction of pavement to that of suspended water, its all just chasing shadows. Personally, I don't really see the point in trying to emulate snowboarding or surfing on land except as crosstrainging, each has their own time and place.

Similar to the warning we put in the now-locked thread in General, this is fair warning to the aggrieved and the aggrievors: stop the flamefest, stop the stupidity and chill the heck out. Violators will be dismembered and shown on PutFile Videos. Don't test us. We're very tense.

I agree with you on that.
Although my modified carveStik does a little bit better because of the edge control you get with using bindings and the abilty to jump similar to a snowboard.
That's where the similarity stops.
My board is rides exactly like a mountainboard except on "some" terrain rather than "all" terrain.
It makes sense to use full foot bindings on a SB emulator, one wonders why freebord doesn't do the same thing

I can vouch for that. But the same is true for snowboard falls, so as long as we're emulating, might as well emulate the undesirable parts too.

Agreed. Having spent all of my snowboarding years in the Northeast I have had my share of slaming. Northeast slopes can be as hard as concrete.
If I rode a Freebord I'd keeping near the grass so at least I'd have a little cushion similar to the 1" of snow over ice in the Northeast.
Yes freebord bails are no fun, which is why I enjoy that kind of skating on a conventional skateboard. The carve is a little less fluid, but linear turning can be a bit of a drag anyways.
DY, don't take this as flame, but if you don't enjoy "trick" or menouver based skating, what do you do for fun in the park?
also: have you ridden a dirtsurfer before and how did you find it in comparison to your mod-stick.

Good analogy on the low CG bike.
I have a dirtsurfer and I think it only really comes to life at 40km/hr plus and then it is more like doing carves on your MTB than a skateboard.
I have modified snowboard bindings on it but wear them loose enough that you can get out easily.(most of the time)
.
I`m under the impression that the BMW carver may have finished it`s production run for the moment.
I may be wrong but it`s just a rumour I heard.
