    Default BMW streetcarver

Before you jump all over me I've read the reviews and tried to tell my buddy that they are an aquired taste but he is BMW freak and wants one. So his wife puts it to me to find her a site to buy him one for x-mas. I've searched a few places and come up with nothing. Even B<W's site only seems to have bags for hem.

    alittle help boys and girls?

I think you can order one at any BMW dealership too. I've never even seen one, but I hear they are fun to ride.

Oh I know....there is this guy in the office that I work that is about 40 and has just in the last couple years discovered snowboarding and was searching for summer cross training and found this...well guess what he drives...a BMW...he acually has 2....ones his wifes.....so he can afford to waste the money...hehe.

Just for comparison what would you consider comparable to it guys?

I have no knowledge of hybrid boards.

i'm afraid that is would be very difficult to find something you've ridden which could possibly compare to the bmw board...

it is very heavy (not to mention large)...

    tall center of ballance...

a real quick turning radius (and odd lean to turn ratio)...

    no return to center...

almost as if someone who designs cars attempted to design a skateboard. i would consider it quite dangerous actually and not very pleasant to ride for any length of time.

hard to get up to speed, tough to slow down once you're rolling and if memory serves me right, the wheels are such that you can get entangled while trying to do either because they stick out so much.

the closest thing i could compare it to is an archeryflex deck with stroker trucks using two bricks for risers (and added weight). these are ancient products from the early 70's and probably unknown to most people on this site.

the main problem with the bmw is that though it feels a bit sluggish you can get goin pretty fast due to its large rubber wheels. there is a mechanical feel to the ride and if you turn too quickly for the speed you would most likely highside.

sorry but i would only really recommend it as a an expensive gag gift or museum piece. either way it would be around for a long time.

    shifter is absolutely correct!

    and I actually HAVE one!

But I wouldn't trade it or sell it for anything - my friends bought it for me for my 40th birthday I take it out once in awhile and ride it. It IS extremely well made - but it does have all the quirks mentioned above

Yeah, I have one too--it's quirky for sure, and I'd say it's fairly well made, but not extremely... I'm biased though because mine broke after about a year of not so heavy riding.

It's definitely a cool board to have though. Very cool looking, and from what I remember, fun to ride

Well if he has the money I'll custom make a board for his like this and it will not be a waste of money. This board is more like snowboarding than any board on the market.

I can make it custom to his weight and style of riding.

Nobody asked you rollerboarding frat boy.
Nobody asked you to try and sell some guy who clearly is only interested in the BMW Streetcarver some other lame piece of poser junk, go back to hassling 14 year olds or something.

Didn't appear as though he had stopped. Careful gimp, he may write Marcuszzzzzzzzzz about "that boy".

Though on a positive note, it does appear as though he is willing to play the dis game.

If one was to google "DadyYo" and discover photos of a rainbow colored board with straps and something to the effect that it was a great way to draw in little frat boys it would be kinda creepy....

See? Now go and do some jumps on your little strap board, maybe you could learn to shuvit or kickflip, do a manuel maybe? oh wait, no kicktail, so you can't, well i'm sure doing the same lame stinkbug grabs while being laughed at by kids is fun. Y'know, if you're into that kinda thing.

See? Now go and try to do your little ballerina kick flips and pop shuvits. In fact try do them all day, Try to do them all week. Try to do them for years on end in the driveway of your Mommy's house. Maybe one day you might actually land one.

To illustrate your ignorance once more - do you really think I can't nollie or manual my board? And to illustrate your little Girl Scout Club mentality - I could care less what anyone of any age thinks about my board or my riding.

Some day you'll be riding a board like mine. That time will come right after everyone else in your Middle School starts to ride one. Then you'll want to be just like them so you can follow them around and dress like them and have the cache that they earned by not being a little snot-nose hanger-ons like you.
Uh I'm pretty sure you can't nollie, lifting the back of the board before the front is not a nollie, just another lame jump.
And your board will never become popular, because people see it for what it is, a lame piece of junk for people without the skill or patience to skate properly, just because something is difficult to do doenst mean its not worth doing, like trying to **** a nun.
