Re: Freebord Pro Team 2012
If you watch these vids on Youtube, Long boarders give them ****. I actually think it looks fun. It's more like concrete snowboarding than anything. Also, a lot of this would be physically impossible on a long board. It looks fun.

I'd say so. If you were going fast enough, you'd probably slide the wheels until you slow down. If you are going slowly, I;d say it could easily throw you forwards.

I'm still waiting to try one of these out. Some of my buddies in IL have ran across them, but they're awk on flat land.
I feel like if you were perpendicular to the road and then accidentally caught edge...the wheels would likely stop and you'd get hurt.
But I'm curious what would happen if say you were at a 45 degree angle, leaning on your uphill edge, and then switched edges....the downhill wheels would still be induced to spin since they're aimed down the hill but idk if that would result in you getting bucked off.

Re: Freebord Pro Team 2012
I had one. I snowboard and it feels really rough in comparison. The huge trucks make it heavy, they also rattle and feel bulky and cheap. To top it off, you can't stay in the center, and it's really slow in comparison to any longboard with any old bearings. It was so annoying to push that I picked it up and walked over flat. Never again.....It's pretty gimmicky if you ask me...I sold it for 100 bucks and was glad to get that.

You are right about this, just as a snowboard can "catch an edge" so can a freebord. It happens with you put you weight onto your downhill edge and you do NOT want to do that haha.
The Freebord was def built for downhill riding and can def be tricky to ride on flat. It's for people who want to snowboard all year long.
Yes it is slower then a longboard
No it is not that great for transportation
BUT
it can do a lot of things a longboard can't do
Truthfully it's not meant to complete with longboards, it is it's own animal. I have a longboard and a freebord and love them both. It's a shame people just hate on things that are so similar to their sport. Hate on people who just want to have fun in a slightly different way. Reminds me of when snowboarding first came out a lot of skiers hated on it and now look what happened
I highly encourage anyone interested in one to give it a try, it'd be a great addition to your board collection in my opinion
