Default newb question

Hey I was wondering if I used a regular board could I use a regular sized board like a non longboard one and put longboard wheels on it would it feel the same as a longboard? Would it also feel better if I put longboard trucks bearings etc? Thanks for any help

it will feel squirrely due to the short wheelbase. you are better off buying a longboard.

I already have a longboard. Its 44 inches which makes it a pain to carry in and out of trains and buses. I was wondering about a shorter easier to carry board that costs less then a shorter longboard

Theres some good short longboards listed here, Small boards?

However you can also add longboard wheels to a regular trick deck, wont be quite as good but its better than a regular skateboard if your just cruizing.

If you want the same carve action, get some carving trucks like Randal II's. The wide trucks will give you more stability, etc. on a shorter board.
