Here's the vid from our second stop on this tour: Albuquerque, New Mexico! One of the best spots to ride in North America, if not THE BEST! We spent nine hours riding that ditch (8 minutes down, 30-40 minutes up)! It was FREAKIN HOT! Funny thing is, we were finally ready to go and it started raining. By the time we got in the truck it was pouring and by the time we got to the highway out of town, all ditches (including this one) were full of water and full-on wild rapids!!! It had rained the day before, so we were told to be careful. We watched the skies all day and luckily the sky gave us all day to play!
After reading your post my first thought was this must be some little kid who likes to ridicule others on forums. Then I noticed you're 37! That's just sad. I admit the jumping doesn't look as smooth as on a skateboard, but for these guys it was their first time riding a ditch on a Dirtsurfer. Do you honestly believe that skateboarders looked the same as they do today the first time they rode a ditch? Skill levels will improve and smoothness will come with practice. Its just my suggestion - you're free to do whatever you want obviously, but if you open your mind and experience new things before knocking them you might learn that there are more ways to have fun out there besides the things that existed when you were young. These guys skateboard too, so are in no way knocking skateboarding by riding the ditch on a Dirtsurfer. It was just another way to experience it. Totally different and just as much fun! As for your first comment - totally agree. Sick Ass place to ride!
Great videos. Now I wanna try ridding a dirt surfer. Whos got one in Virginia? If it were easy to skate on flat land, it would be great to cruise the boardwalk on one, and when a cop stops you just say "this isn't a skateboard it's a bike with no pedals."

Hey JM! From what I've heard Virginia has some NICE roads to ride! Give Rob and Chase Turman a shout at: papasurfva@yahoo.com These guys would be happy to give you a demo board to try. Chase is an awesome skater too. Definitely the right guy to talk to about skating the Dirtsurfer.
Ignore the doof and know that you've got some cool vid of an amazing ditch. One thing I noted that's slightly off topic: those dirtsurfers would be a great camera vehicle to chase skaters with in those ditches. Those relatively large pneumatic tires seem to provide a very smooth filming platform.
