Default Electric Skateboard review at T3

http://www.t3.co.uk/news/247/general...ric-skateboard

Here's the text and vid if you don't want to click through:

"[2007-10-19]
Electric skateboard hits town
Exclusive video: Zero emission Boom 2 Borda hits 25mph, we only just escape injury.

Skateboarding: the preserve of kids in baggy clothes and those with a love of scars and broken limbs right? Well, not any more.

The Rokit Science Boom 2 Borda claims to be the ultimate eco-gadget, the all new way for you to get into the office.

See, it's got an electric motor on board. Fire it up with the trigger and you'll reach a top speed of 25mph worryingly fast (just see our video for the perils of speedy acceleration).

You'll get 30 miles out of one charge and there's even ABS style brakes when things start getting out of control.

It costs slightly more than your common or garden skate machine. £449 to be precise. But then what price environmental smugness, huh?

Check out our exclusive gallery and video to see the Borda in action."

Sorry if this has been posted... just over $900 USD (plus shipping, of course) nets you one of these beauties that takes you up to 25 mph!
(provided you don't go down any hills!)

For something that nerdy, I'm surprised it doesn't have regenerative braking like a hybrid vehicle or something. I like it but I wouldn't use one though; too impractical when you have to carry it inside or the battery runs out..

I would be scared of going 25mph on something not powered by myself down NYC traffic. So much less control.

looks like it would be fun but nerdy. I like the fact It actually has a 30 mile range, enough to be useful. I wonder how heavy it is wiith that big battery. Also can it turn?

How do you normally stop going down traffic in NYC?

I'm sure it's 30 miles on flat land, when brand new. Add in a few hills and a few months of use and the range wouldn't be nearly as good

Delicate footbreaking. A heavy (presumably, being that it is electric and motorized), unweildy board would be nish nish for foot breaking, plus it probably has a brake.

the E-glides have a remote control gun, the trigger has two position forward break, back forward movement. beleive me there a lot of fun, I have the Good year rubber wheels on mine with the soft bushings and it carves really good.
