I've got this place where I would have to option to build a halfpipe out of dirt . The ground there is really compact, almost like clay, and it dries up rock solid... so what I was thinking was taking a normal street deck, high risers, some trucks and some WHEELS that would be suitable...
I don't need anything as big as mountainboard wheels but skateboard wheels will be too small definitely. Main thing is that it's not too big and that it fits on normal skate trucks. So basically vert skating on a clay/dirt halfpipe.
you'd almost definitely want mountainboard wheels, maybe even just a ###### mountainboard.
i would rather have rubber, inflatable wheels over urethane any day on any kinda dirt. maybe thats just me.
i know they sell "mountain board conversion kits", to turn a skateboard into a mountain board, which would probably be cheaper than buying a full deck. might be something to look into...

X-treme wheelz used to sell 100mm+ dirt wheels and riser kits/sky clips for regular skateboards... might want to check and see if you can't get a hand on some of those,
Why not cover the dirt with some masonite and the like after it's built? Would give you a smooth riding surface. Trust me, when you stand on a board a lot of pressure goes into those wheels and hanging you up on any kind of dirt, no matter how hard pact.

it's gonna be a real bitch to pump and keep any usable speed. The ground no matter how hard is going to suck all your speed, and the more you try to pump, the more energy your putting into the ground, thus loosing more speed.

how would you fasten the masonite???

no actually my parents gave me tis tiny small area to build on.
The place is in the middle of to boonies... no concrete factories... and it's difficult to reach as its on a hill with a dirt road thats real steep.
Dirt is the only option, but I'm pretty lucky to have clay-like soil. The ground can be squished easily enough and create a smooth surface, but it will be sorta soft...
I'll check all the tips out dudes!
Thanks.
Oh yeah and I can't take any photo's at the moment, it's my summer vacation house... but I've been in house so long now (bad weather) that 've been just starting to make up stuff.
Any kind of advanced or quality service is not available =,(
Im telling you its not going to be anywhere near what you dream it to be. To shape it is going to be your first HUGE problem. It wont "ride" anyehere near fun because the ground will soak up any momentum. then you have to rmemeber anytime it rains it will get largely distorted.
And this is all considering that you are a actually good at riding a halfpipe already (the idea alone suggests youre not). halfpipes arent that fun just to go back and forth. you cant grind, you most definately wont get enough speed to get an air...
